NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

5090 shines at huge resolutions, due to the extra bandwidth. So it's worth it for VR gaming where you're running over 4k resolutions, and rendering a screen for each eye.
Once the new season in Warzone started, they always revert the settings so I had limit frame rate enabled which I quickly disabled.

Running like a dream now, 400+fps buttery smooth completely maxed out on a 32” 4k oled. :)

My Acer X34 3440x1440 has finally given up, 10 years old so can't really complain.

Grabbing a Samsung 40" G7 which is 5k2k, currently on an OG RTX3080, I'm wondering if I upgrade to a RTX5080 will be enough to power games @ 90Hz as that's what I'm used to with my old panel.

What games?

Can use MFG or lossless scaling perhaps if required, depending on MFG support.

It will easily handle that. I would say the component to keep your eye on would be the cpu. Your sig says 980Ti but your on a 3080.. what is your specs?

I haven't change that sig in years, my current spec is,

CPU: 7800X3D
GPU: RTX 3080 10GB
RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 CL30
M/B: Asus ROG Strix X670E-A
PSU: 1250w PCI-E 5 12VHPWR

And today I've purchased a Samsung G7 40" 5k2k Monitor.

Now thinking to grab an RTX5080, maybe the Asus Prime one as people say its quiet and runs cool.

Same buyer I probably had. A smooth, no worries sale :)
Possibly the same and indeed no issues sale. To be sure I've filmed benchmark running, how it works, serial number of what's in the computer exactly (same video still) and then packing process etc. Just in case someone would like to desolder GPU and ram and send it back as not working ;p

so the Asus Astral is like £2700? £2800 right

Premium GPU

So this new Asus ROG Matrix card releases, and for some reason, like the previous 40 and 30 series Asus seem to always release their top tier card a year or more after the release of a new architecture

SO this new ROD Matrix card will probably RRP at what? £3000 or £3300 and its only like a year away from the 6090, like why would you spend 35 hundred quid on a GPU that after one year its not gonna be top end

I mean I would like the Matrix but at that price when a founders edition does the same thing for 1800 quid hmmm

Man I remember back in the day a 3500 quid PC was like OVER KILL, now its just the GPU, consumer grade...

It's a "luxury" item. Most people that buy them don't care about the price.

As you say a founders edition will do the same job 99% of the time.

I remember the days of what 3k would get you. I know prices go up with inflation etc but you could pick up a Titan back in the day for under a grand, with the X being just over that.

Now a top end PC is 5k plus if you buy the high end parts. If you buy all high end ASUS you'll be well over that with a £700 1600w Thor III psu, £1000 Extreme motherboard, £3k gpu etc. Obviously you don't need to spend that, let's face it most of the features on high end boards go unused by many, and we don't really need 1600w power supplies but again people that tend to buy high end don't necessarily care about the price, or it's small relative to their income.

With the way everything seems to be going with PC prices I'm looking to exit, next gen parts are going to be ridiculously priced and there's a line for me. Years ago you could justify it as PC was pushing the boundaries with graphics. Look when Crysis Launched, but now we're getting nothing but higher frame rate console games most of the time. Texture quality is barely better, and lod distances aren't much better either.

The Matrix is a 5090 Ti in all but name, seeing as Nvidia won't make it.

But yeah the prices have gone up across the board now if you're in the market for a 5090, the price hikes are back on the menu.

Best time to get one was May-August, now you're best bet for a better deal is members market/ebay etc

Since adding a second monitor, any game I launch just has a black screen (game is running), and can only be fixed by disabling the overlay. Not sure why this happens, and google is not giving me any answers.
