LEJOG

I haven't but it sounds like a wicked ride to do at some point. How many days are you planning to do it over? Watched a few videos and read a book about it and its something I will probably do at some point in my life when I can give up a few weeks to it.

It kinda started like this with my mate.

"We should do parkrun at LE and then ride to JOG and do the park run there."

So leaving around 10am on Saturday to arrive before 9am the following Saturday.

In July 2026 is as far as the conversation has got.

I’ll come back to this thread in June 2026 when neither of you want to admit you were joking and actually start planning, before just winging it from start to finish.

Thats quite the goal. Thats about 170 miles per day on the bike. I assume you boys are mega fit if you fancy that in 7 days.

I don't consider myself mega fit. We've both done several Ironman triathlons.

If thats the full Ironman Triathlon then you are very fit. I seem to have misjudged the distance you can make it as well. Obviously there are different routes but you can do it in 874 miles by road so only 125 miles a day. Barely stretching your legs!

I would suggest that it would be a big effort to do it in 7 days but if you are super fit on the bike then its doable. 8 hours a day at 25kph should get it done in your time limit. No idea what the elevation would be over that route.

Meh - just wing it through sheer will and determination!

Yeah. Full fat 140.6 days out. Managed a 10:48 in August this year.

It’s going to be tough but it looks possible. Just a case of being able to grind it out each day. I think we’ll try and avoid the major busy A roads so that’s going to add some distance.

That's an insanely impressive time!

It's ok. To be fair it was a fast course. It's not like doing Cardiff that quickly.

My 1st IM was "can i finish". Then it was "sub 12" then "sub 11". Reflecting on the last one I think a sub 10:30 will be my ultimate goal. I just can't run fast enough to get a time in the 9s.

Good effort. I think i'm always comparing things to my mate who did 14hrs in Bolton but then it seems that's regarded as one of the hardest
Bolton is probably the hardest course on the ironman calendar with over 9000ft on the bike and even the run is hilly with 1300ft for the marathon

Bolton is hard enough to do mentally....well because Bolton. Then you add in the physical nature of the course and it's an equation that equals nope.
