Because of this thread I'm come to realise that what you've described is autumn.

That isn't a single day in winter that isn't longer than the previous.

Oct Nov Dec Jan are the wettest months and only Jan is a full winter month, Dec is only 10 days of winter. the rest is autumn.

So you may find that the actual things you dislike are all mainly an autumn issue

I work outside a lot fixing heavy plant machines..Not much fun when it freezing cold or pouring down with rain.
I try to use the days when it raining to order in or go pick up parts, But of cause it doesn't fully work like that as you can't plan which day a machine going break down :cry:

Spring! Weather is getting warmer, birthday in May, loads of sports on (F1 season starts, footy season ending, the Masters golf, snooker world championship) and it's the start of music festival season :)
 
Summer for me.
Whilst not a fan of high temperatures, the long bright days make up for it overall.
I get really down from October onwards.
 
Spring for me, with the looking forward to Summer....before it gets to hot, then it can go and do one.
