Tennis

Six Kings Slam is currently on, it’s on netflix.

Didn’t even know it was a thing until it popped up on NF and my curiosity got the better of me.

Sinner just battered Tsitsipas, wasn’t even worth while playing to be honest.

Anyway, he plays Novak tomorrow. Best of three so could be interesting.

Nadal played in it last year. This year they've got Tsitsipas, Fritz, and Zverev all who've never won a slam. Hardly 'Kings'

Despite being an exhibition the $6m prize money makes means they do take it seriously. The presenter and whole show is nonsesonse bit of fluff for Saudi Arabia though.

I preferred to watch the Beijing, and Wuhan Open.

Anyone going to watch the 'Battle of the Sexes'? Silly nonsense of course, but I don't have anything better to do today, so may have it on in the background.

Sabalenka v Kyrgios. Today, 15:45 BBC One if interested.
Not paid attention, but I believe there are differences for each player like court size and serve limits, while no doubt both will be getting paid silly money for this circus act disrupting their Xmas break before the Oz Open.

Who the **** is this random gimp? He’s not interested in talking about the tennis today, just equal rights and pay for women as well as Kyrgios‘ off court issues. The host isn’t much better but at least Annabelle’s keeping it on topic.

I generally have no patience for the build-up, to just about any match, or the post-match interviews for that matter. I just mute it until the match actually starts!

So what we’ve learnt so far is an injured male player who’s barely played for two years, has a much smaller court to aim for and is barely out of neutral is still way too good for a female player when he ups his level even a bit.

Edit: And we’re back to arguing that a lesser standard of sport deserves equal pay.

Think y'all taking it way too seriously. Don't watch it if it makes you mad. Just a bit of filler until the Aus Open, that's all.

Just baffled by the whole event. What was the point?

I think Ronaldo, Kaka and Peter Crouch nearly had more air time than the actual tennis.

Kyrigos seemed like he couldn't really be bothered 75% of the time and just did the minimum he needed.

Sabelinka clearly gave 120% and even the advantages of the smaller court on her side and playing on the worlds slowest court, she couldn't really mount any pressure against someone who hasn't played tennis for near enough 2 years and is currently ranked 672? Yet all the commentators could say how magical of a player she is and also kept referring to her as the world number 1, negating the female part which was quite irritating after a while.

Also I wonder what the reaction would have been if Kyrigos did a body shot like she did to him to win a point? I don't think it would have been 'applause' and 'cheering' like she received.
