Anyone know what the game is at 16:49? Is that command and conquer on touch screen? That looks sick!!!

I’m not into console gaming any more at all but we have bought the household for Christmas an Xbox series X. I didn’t do a lot of research but it’s a console that they asked for and I read the gamepass is far superior on the Xbox. I’m getting a little worried now after reading this thread about being obsolete and no future etc. Is it seriously worth considering taking back and maybe going down the PS5 route? Cheers

Looks like C&C Remastered.

I think in the worst case scenario you get a couple of years out of it and enjoy Game Pass and have a fantastic backwards compatible console. And maybe decide to see what Xbox Magnus ends up being (meant to be the internal name for the new AMD chips to be used in these new 'Xbox' machines). With Microsoft games now being published on PC and PS5 (most, with some gaps) the reasons to buy an Xbox are reduced. Although Game Pass has been exceptional value for money, before the recent price increases.

I suppose the risk is investing too heavily in the Xbox digital library when we don't know what they backwards compatibility, or how they will handle the transition from Console to PC. It really depends on how much the future worries you, or how much faith you have in Microsoft moving forwards I think.

This is what I am worried about- its future. Im talking with a friend about getting a PS5 and eventually swapping out my kids xboxes for PS next year. As much as game pass is great, now its increased its slowly decreasing in value. I find my self, doom scrolling games to see what I fancy playing nowadays. I prefer to actually have 2-3 games I want to play I think. So I really any thinking of getting a PS5, buying a few games (yeah it will be a bigger outlay but not paying monthly for games I wont play).

Big decision.

Edit: If i get a PS5, my series X can go to my eldest lad, and his S can go to my youngest. That way all 3 kids have xbox to keep them busy over the next year

I did sell the Series X last year and so don't own an Xbox any more (ignoring the stupid everything's an Xbox). I don't think any of the platforms are perfect, even PC, but digital lock-in is real and I trust Microsoft the least right now.

Partner preview was good last night, looks like the Xbox Play Anywhere program is getting bigger and bigger which is good.

I've cashed in some credit from Microsoft Rewards and got Silent Hill 2 Remake (which wasn't in the preview last night but was released in the night) and Dave the Diver for free.

Been playing Cosmic Invasion recently through Gamepass and it's a brilliant belt scroller. Quite short levels but lots of replayability.

Need to start Silent Hill 2 remake next.

Have been thoroughly enjoying SH2 recently but now feel it's starting to get a bit long in the tooth.

I hope the ending is close, just finished the prison bit.

Finally hit renewal time. Can get 6 months Essentials for £16.99 so may stack that a couple of times and just buy the games I want. Feels a bit bleak at the mo.
Looking at picking that up too. I don't play on my Xbox anymore really, but stacked GP ages ago so not given it any thought.

Essential will be enough for my boys to still play and chat online with owned games, right?

Amazon is doing the £599 PS5 pro deal again if you’re still interested in getting a PS5

Quick question guys just setting up a series x for the kids and we want to have it inaccessible overnight. I’ve made profiles for them all but besides setting up screen times for each profile on there can I just have the Xbox unusable from a certain time at night for everyone?

Probably easier to restrict the Xbox from the router if you want to block traffic for anyone regardless of profile.

Note that the Xbox usually downloads updates (if left in the standby power state) during the night, so you might invertedly end up with having to download updates for games when your kids go to try and play them during the day more often.
