I currently have a super flower 850w PSU.

I've had this for years powering a 6900xt and 5900x CPU but every now and then my crashes and the VGA light comes on from the motherboard restarts all ok and plays fine after.

I know my GPU is fairly old now but I remember these cards used to have random power spikes and I feel like this is causing the random crashes as heat is fine it's an XFX Merc so was the top card out then and I reseated the cooler with thermal grizzly card temps max out towards the high 70's.

I have no budget as such just want a solid high quality 1000w PSU but don't want to pay extra if not needed.

Any recommendations?

Thank you

Bought a Corsair Hx1000i after my old Hx850 started playing up. No problems so far and my experience with the 850 and Corsair made me stick with them.
The 850 failed very near to the end of the warranty period and I had no trouble from Corsair they just sent a new one out - I had nearly 2 decades of use from the initial purchase!

Obligatory link to the SPL PSU Tier List - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...RB6Xt6JWkc/edit?gid=1973454078#gid=1973454078

The Edge seem ok (A Tier) but if not in a dual chambered case check how your cable routing would work as it can affect length.

The new Lian Li SX Platinums looks nice, but not much out there on them yet.
Personally I've had the Montech Century II 1050W which is cheap and well rated but I had issues with noisy bearings on 2 units so went with a different brand & model after 2 RMAs
