Driving temp without road tax?

Its a £10 saving, hardly anything to write home about

My car - tax 6 months is £107
tax for 12 months is £195

195 divided by 2 is £97 , thats a whopping £10 saving

Yes its a tiny bit less, but hardly a massive saving.

I think that is why people get themselves in a mess. They see ten pound here and ten pound there and by the time you get to the end of the year you are £1000 down. It all adds up.

It also isn't a £10 saving. It is £20 because you are having to buy 6 months twice.

Then again if it comes along at the same time as bigger bills, car insurance is often the case, it can make financial sense to spread the payment. Everybodys story is different.

If cashflow is a concern, I think monthly direct debit is cheaper overall than buying 6 months blocks (but still slightly more expensive than 12m lump sum)

I'm responding to the general conversation topic about how people are choosing to pay for VED

Fair enough

I guess it depends on the person really

Its abit like utility bills, or phone contracts, or insurance

Some people want to pay monthly, some people pay all upfront.
