Forza Horizon 6 - Japan (19/05/2026)

One of the worst kept secrets in FH history surely? People wanted to go to Japan so it was destined that eventually we'd get to Japan.
Wasn't the internet absolutely sure that FH4 was going to be Japan, then it took everyone by surprise when the trailing for the UK arrived?

Were there any actual proper leaks about the location this time around, or was everything just hoping that it would be Japan 'this time'?

Either way, I'm glad it is, I think there is lots of potential in this one

In the months leading up to this announcement various sources had "leaked" information about PGG putting in a lot of effort developing models for an array of new Japanese cars.

I played 4, then 3 and then 5. Not played 1 or 2.
But 4 was fantastic on the One X.

3 on the PC was great, barely played 5, did it all on 4.

Much like people who played 3, loved it and got bored of 4. Funny how that works :D

I quite fancy having a go at FH - its seems like a game most people like. There are still keys about for 4 is it worth going for that or 5?

May as well wait for FH6.

I've lots of hours in FH5, but really don't like the Mexican setting.

I prefer FH4 to 5 ( similar to @Kelt I'm not a huge fan of the Mexico setting ) but just be warned, if achievements matter to you, some of them are impossible to get now because the "live service" elements of the game are discontinued.

FH4 guessing was quite some time ago but I think you're right. I do remember being surprised FH4 was in the UK.

There was that leak where some company based in Japan, or was it Australia that sold Japanese cars, tweeted about having Forza people coming over to scan their cars. Bit of a hint but at least people could say it was cars for the next FH rather than a hint about the location. Just because someone goes and scans a load of Ferraris for FH doesn't mean it will be set in Milan.

FH5 was released Dec 2021, so nearly 4 years already.

And the prices when it not on offer

Standard = £55
Deluxe = £70
Premium = £85

Bit different to the old days of steam sales when a game would drop to like £5 when it was a few years old

i played Horizons 4 to death, got bored of it in the end, so i didn't buy 5 as its just the same over again, and 6 will be the same, but new cars and scenery, but it will be just the same, it will be good for a little while then ill get bored with it

Kind of with you there. FH5 is just same old same old now. All FH6 will bring is new cars and a different landscape. Then it'll feel the same as the previous ones.

I've never played any of these and am looking forward to sitting on my sofa and playing this. I've watched a few benchmark videos of 5, and it looks like the engine runs well on my 9070xt so - fingers crossed

It will be mostly the same cars, too, just some additional Japanese ones. I'll probably end up getting FH6 as there isn't much else coming out in the 1st half of this year that I'm looking forward to ( conversely the 2nd half could be stacked eg. Fable, GTA6, Wolverine, Fire Emblem ), but my biggest concern which the Direct didn't touch on is how they plan to deal with the cheating that is rife in the "online" modes. Forza has very much become a "single player" racing game for me because of the rampant cheating.

I wasn’t that impressed with the graphics to be honest after watching the video. I was hoping for a bigger improvement.

I just hope there’s a better sense of progression. I don’t like being able to drive hyper cars within an hour of the game.

That’s what really killed Forza Horizon 5 for me, it felt like there was no real achievement, or progress.

So how do we think it will be? Obnoxious voice acting, with the player given 500 hypercars immediately as the game starts?

It's a TikTok generation game, so there is little chance of real progression being on the cards. A real shame.

It could be something half decent if they dropped the over the top and constant cringe.

That's the main thing I was thinking, I enjoyed the previous game but found all the music and festival annoying, along with I had so many cars or cash it killed the motivation to earn anything. After the way Forza Motorsport went I'm not pre-ordering and likely wait a bit to see how this is
