Hi,

Received a pair of Elac DA43 speakers at Christmas. They are designed for either up firing atmos or wall mount. However i would like to ceiling mount them, but due to only 1 keyhole i am struggling to find an angle adjustable ceiling mount i am confident will work without drilling into the speaker.

Anyone here had a similar issue, and manage to find a way to hang a 3.3kg speaker with only one keyhole to a ceiling, that can also be tilted towards the main listening position?

Did you find a solution to this? I'm looking at mounting a pair of KEF Q100's up as close to the ceiling as I can get (and they weigh 6kgs each)

I made a mount adaptor. Cut a piece of 18mm plywood to the same dimension as the speakers back. Wrapped the plywood with soft black felt. Added screw for the keyhole. Then attached two L brackets and added a lip. The speaker then mounted flush with added support at the bottom with the lipped l brackets. I was then able to screw a decent sized mount to the ply. In the end, i am very pleased with the solution.

I'd probably fit something so no chance the speaker could "fall out" from the eyelet, if for some reason the speaker back is flat.

Perhaps just glue down a strip of wood

good idea and i was initially going to do that. I added 2 L brackets with lips to the ply. Mainly to take some strain from the keyhole. Speaker slides in. No movement even when shaking hard. As the speaker already has 15 degree, my mount is only at 30 degree tilt from vertical, so no chance of the speaker slipping out due to mavity. The mount itself is designed to secure in place with nut and bolt, so no chance for it to loosen and change angle. The only way this is falling down is if the mount rips out the ceiling joist.
