Any decent upgrades to a 3070Ti?

I have an Nvidia 3070Ti and the low amount of VRAM is, I think, slowing me down a bit in games. I have an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, 32GB DDR4 and an Asus Rog Strix X570-E Gaming. Would a Radeon 9070 be a decent upgrade to, if nothing else, double my VRAM? I understand that the motherboard doesn't have a PCIe 5.0 slot but is the 9070 a decent upgrade regardless? If not is there something else that is a worthy upgrade for increasing VRAM at a similar price?

the 3070ti is directly comparable to the 9060xt 8gb, they're basically neck-and-neck
the 9070 is about 50% faster than both, so it makes it an acceptable upgrade - the 9070 is about the same as a 3090ti
(so in essence you're going from a 3070ti to a 3090ti)

though if you have an appropriate psu and the cash, i would probably go for the 9070xt instead

9070 = £530, 9070xt = £570
the xt is 10-15% faster than the non-xt version, though the xt is well past the limits of the silicon efficiency
(304w tgp vs 220w tgp - so a 50% increase in power for 10-15% performance gain)

I have an 850W PSU so that should be fine. I am gaming on a 27" 4k screen and whilst a 9070XT won't be perfect for that it'll be a lot better than the 3070Ti. I ran GPU-Z last night and checked what it was saying when I played Two Point Museum (my current game) and the RAM usage was about 6600MB max but the GPU usage hit 95%+ quite often and this coincided with when the movement/scrolling was really jerky.
Thanks. Wasn't sure if the XT was just not going to be worth it for what I'd get back considering I've no PCIe 5.0 slot on my motherboard but £40 is fine. The Sapphire card is £20 more than the XFX one, gets 5* from 28 reviews not 4.3* from 4 reviews and is shorter, narrower and less tall needing 3 slots rather than 3.5 so I might just get that one instead. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sapp...6-pci-express-graphics-car-gra-spr-03983.html
9070 XT is a decent upgrade. Moving on from 8GB VRAM would probably give you a considerable benefit in 1% lows and how games generally feel.
I'm not expecting the 9070XT to be blazingly faster than my 3070Ti but the VRAM increase is what I hope will help me out a lot. Oh, great username btw! :D
I went from a 3070ti to a 9070XT.

Very noticeable difference (double FPS) for pretty much what I paid for the 3070ti.
I paid £500 for my 3070Ti in January 2023, so just over 3 years ago. To be able to purchase a newer card with double the VRAM for less than £100 more is quite stunning.

I would 100% pay the extra £20 for the Sapphire, they're basically the A tier for AMD cards (like EVGA were for nV).

Better warranty handling from what I've seen - https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...y-lets-see-how-good-they-really-are.18231329/

And on a more subjective note, I have a pulse 7900XT which is basicaly the same cooler and I'm very happy with it, keeps very cool/quiet and is the 2nd most 'solid' feeling card I've owned (after my 3060ti Founders Edition - Those founders edition coolers are beautiful!)

Edit: As @tamzzy said though, a bit more power hungry... you could definitely trim this down a bit if you spent the time to undervolt it, but the same would be true of any other card that's in the discussion

Im running a 9900k so older than your platform with a 9070 Xt Red Devil also have a 28” Acer Predator 4k 144 monitor and tbf it’s a cracking GPU. I’ve UV and tuned power draw to the point max usage is 260w and is same performance as the stock Red Devil which pulls 330w. Its whisper quiet and plays 4k very well. I would argue to say you’ll get close if not double the performance of the 3070 Ti.

Hi all

I was wondering if you guys can chime in on what AMD cards are like for Ray Tracing etc these days. I'm debating upgrading my RTX3060ti to a card with 16gm of ram and wondered what the general consenus was. Looking for something to futureproof the next couple of years as I dont upgrade that often.

I used to run AMD Radeon cards but swapped over to Nvidia a while back due to the arrival of GSync, however my latest 1440p monitor accomodates both Freesync and G Sync so that wouldnt been an issue.

If anyone can give me a bit of advice that would be much appreciated as tbh I am a little out of the loop

9070xt is decent at RT now, worth getting.

My 9070 XT plays quake 2 RTX slightly above what my 3090 could play at - RDNA4 has come on leaps and bounds.

I went with the PowerColour one in the end as the Sapphire one only had 2 x DP ports and I wanted 3. I ordered just before 7pm last Friday so was expecting the card to be despatched on Monday and delivered Tuesday. I didn't choose Sunday delivery. The card got despatched on Saturday and I was expecting it on Monday but it was delivered on Sunday! I didn't get any email notifications and heard the doorbell so went to answer it and it was the DPD courier. Sunday delivery and only paid for next weekday delivery :)

I just got around to putting the card in today and had a quick test in Two Point Museum. I can't hear the card! The 3070Ti was a noisy beast; probably because I was pushing it on a 4K screen but to not hear the 9070 XT at all is stunning.

It's just a bit annoying that the card went from £590 last Friday to £560 during the week and is £500 now! https://www.overclockers.co.uk/powe...-pci-express-graphics-card-gra-pwc-04020.html
