Samsung Galaxy S26 Family Thread

True 10 bit display and privacy display plus better camera or rather camera improvements will make you upgrade I bet :p
The camera specs rumoured in recent times appears exactly the same as the S25 Ultra so that's the main reason I am uninterested. The display specs don't mean much as the S25/24 etc were all superb anyway in all conditions.

Xiaomi and POCO offer way more for less money having now owned the flagship models from both, the only thing that stopped me from shifting over fully is the video recording on Samsung is still superior, it's lower noise,c leaner motion and captures audio better for the time I'm not using my lav mics when recording my reviews etc. Samsung just wins outright for video recording for now.

A quick google of "Privacy screen protector" will give you a good insight into the idea behind the privacy screen protector technologies. I'm not sure how the tech on the actual phone works though.

The privacy screen is a nice touch for some, nothing new really, my adult kids all have screen protectors on their Samsung and apple phones that do a very similar thing, and the screen protectors only cost a couple of quid.

Those screen protectors kill the vibrancy etc. of the display though, I have one on my work iphone. Hopefully samsungs implementation will retain its brightness etc. when viewing head on.

Yeah, I noticed straight away the dull screen too :( mine only lasted a day before I took it off and stuck a standard screen protector on. I'm hoping it's a new display technology and not something as simple as the viewing angles trickery we currently have.

Less than a week to go.

What you think the chances are of a £200 trade in for any device happening for the ultra?

This will be my first time buying at launch so can anyone recommend tips to get the best price?
I'm thinking of using my son's student discount. Will that work in the ultra?

I'm hoping for...

£1061 ( student discount)
£200 any device trade in
And what ever codes and vouchers are available.

I bought my S23U on 10.Mar.2023 and Samsung's trade-in programme gave me either £150 or £170 for my S20U. It certainly wasn't as high as £200. Then being an NHS worker, they knocked 15% off. Pretty sure that teachers, students, armed forces, ScotRail etc are all 15%.

Welcome to OcUK btw :-)

Does anyone remember if last year when the 25 ultra was announced if there was a £200 trade in for any S series broken or working?

I currently have the 23 ultra and think the best option would be to trade in an old device ( s6) then sell the 23 ultra private.

I've read somewhere that last year they had this £200 trade in deal but not had it confirmed.
