Quest 3 is better for me for sure because I am in passthrough so much so the Frame was a non-starter for me anyway.
How hard or expensive would it have been to just add a simple colour camera, even if it had none of the usual mixed reality stuff like dynamic occlusion etc, a standalone device, which by its very nature can be used almost anywhere, needs decent passthrough imo so the surroundings can be adequately seen. I appreciate i've voiced this before but I still can't get my head around Valve not including decent passthrough in 2026 on a standalone device.
Maybe there's a lot more to it that I don't understand.

Today I went hands on with Steam Frame. I haven’t got any proof however due to anonymity. Therefore I wasn’t allowed to take any pictures but they have said I can share my experience. I even tried Half Life Alyx running stand alone on the headset which was interesting.
Hopefully by now long term subscribers to the channel know I’m not a liar so if you have any questions let me know and I’ll do my best to prepare a video for tomorrow and be as thorough as possible. To be clear this isn’t a full review for expectations. Cheers
