HI All,

I purchased the 8Pack Elite Tier ASUS ROG Strix Z490-I Overclocked i9 10900K 5.0GHz Gaming Bundle in 2020.

The system has been running flawlessly. I noticed a little fall in performance, so I decided to check the CPU benchmark, which reported the stock values rather than the 5.0 GHz overclock.

I reloaded the 8-pack saved BIOS settings in case the BIOS has reset to defaults somewhere, and now my PC won't boot to Windows. I tried the repair and reset to no avail.

While frustrating, and a Windows reinstall isn't the end of the world, and I manage my files and data, so it's non-disruptive.

My question is, how can I be sure I'm at the optimal overclock setting, and back to the 8pack preconfigured? I'm finding the BIOS hard to read and understand.

You shouldn't need to reinstall Windows. Is secure boot enabled or disabled?

What did you use to confirm CPU clock speeds?
Hey aaronyuri,

Thanks for responding, I used PassMark to run the test, thats what reported the base speed on the single thread test.

I will checked the secure boot, and as I said, this BIOS is confusing. Nowhere can I find secure boot on/off; all it has is other/windows.

Hmm did you reset bios to defaults as the 8pack settings appeared to cause the issue? Or did you just jump in to flashing firmware and repairing windows?

I had a random reboot and after I noticed the speeds has drop to stock, I tried to restore the save profile but it didn't do anything. So, I flashed the firmware and enabled the AI tweeker. It's better than it was performance-wise, but it isn't reaching the 5GH it has been stable at for years. I'm going to ping OC and see if they have the settings on file.
