Is anyone on here familiar with Joshi Repair? They are based near Leicester and have gone radio silent on my motherboard repair, which was sent to them in February. They seemed to have good reviews and I last had an update in April saying my repair had been completed but needed further testing, but nothing since. A few reviews on Trustpilot have gone up in the last week saying the same thing as me. They have my MSI Godlike X motherboard, so its a lot of money! I'm starting to resign myself that I have lost the board to scammers - I should be able to get the £75 fee back from Paypal but that's little consolation. If I still can't get hold of them, I guess next steps is reporting it to the police, and then maybe small claims, assuming the contact details are all correct (assume they are - it was definitely delivered to the address).
 
Not someone ive heard of but how would you value the motherboard to put a small claims in?

Would the court take the view that what you sent in had no value as its unuseable?

But id start the paypal claim it might jolt them into action
 
Seems to be a fairly established business with a reasonable history, their social media seems to have gone dead around the end of Feb despite being fairly active up to that point and their other business affairs seem to be active until around the end of April when everything seems to have gone cold (with other people begging for a response as you've seen). There is a notice on their website of being away until the 20th of March which hasn't been removed. From a cursory glance seems to be a largely one man band with a couple of other people helping out who've probably been doing some misc stuff up until recently.

My guess is something unexpected has happened to the main person involved but without more digging can't say more than that - they seem to have gone MIA so good luck.

Thanks for the replies - I've found the Companies House details and the phone doesn't get answered. So weird they have just dropped off the face of the earth! If i go down the small claims route I'll put the full value of the board and be interested if they defend the claim, but to be honest I'm not sure even if i did win, there would be any money to collect. I've already disputed my payment for the repair with Paypal, so should get that back at least.
 
why not just send it back to MSI for repair? I assume maybe the fault was outside warranty repair terms of services? Still should have contacted MSI these companies usually have certified repair centres that work with them. They could have passed the contact details to you and you could have got out of warranty repair services. Even if MSI forces you to repair it through them directly its still worth it as some parts are not available to repair companies and they usually have to find a donor board for parts, specially with Apple product repairs, anyway hope you find a resolution and get your motherboard repaired, its not a cheap motherboard.

I sent them my damaged RTX 4090 in late February. I got confirmation they received my package via WhatsApp but since then, they have not updated my order status and they have not replied to any messages or calls. I've tried all of the emails I could find associated with the company/guy online. Nothing. I currently plan to send a written notice before action and then following through with the courts. Though it may be damaged, I'm not losing my card that easily.

Sorry to hear you have the same problem too. I sent a letter before action to their Companies House address. My board was showing as repaired, its so strange they have vanished off the face of the earth.
 
Just received a response from the guy via WhatsApp. Claimed he had a serious life event occur in March and is beginning his backlog of work now. Not sure he's communicating this to everyone who tried reaching out, but thought I'd pass this along.
