Hooper got 515kg off the ground by literally a few mm and Thor couldn't lock it out.

The ironic thing about the enhanced games and the rules about what they could and couldn't take meant Hooper and Thor were probably on less gear than they would've been normally.

Glad to see the whole thing flop tbh.

Is this for people that can’t achieve success at other games like the olympics, so have to resort to taking drugs to achieve something so that they feel better about themselves.

Agreed, Thor pulled 510 like it was nothing at giants live and definitely had 515 possibly 520 in the tank that night.

Not all the athletes were enhanced and some had had success in various competitions in their sport. I turned it off after the deadlfting and no one had broken any of the world records at that point.

EDIT: Looks like 1 person did in the end. He got $250k for winning and another $1m for the world record.

This seemed like a great idea when I first heard it then as the time got closer I became less and less interested. Only watched a few highlights on YouTube, don't feel like I missed much.
I saw a quote from the British swimmer saying he was 30 years old and already had an Olympic silver medal, so what other avenues were open to him? Fair enough imo.

Hooper made a YT video listing all the gear he was on for these games and it (by all accounts) was a vast array more than he was normally on.

Not sure about these games. But then there have been years.of enhanced improvements to equipment used in sport to get an edge be it running shoes, bike equipment and so on.

Some of the bike races or bobsleigh, for example, you know some teams won't be anywhere near the leaders because they've not had the money to enhance their equipment.

So yeah, it's an odd one, can't say I approve nor disapprove. Be interesting to see what happens in the running, whether enhancement is more noticeable over endurance or speed events.

I've just watched the deadlifts lifting on an oly platform was a poor choice, you can see their feet sliding.
Any strongman records are generally pulled on rubber so that goes someway to explaining the big gap compared to what I expected them to pull.
