New Patio and DPC Query

I was wonder how drainage works on a setup like this and if there is a risk of damp problems with having a patio that's higher then the DPC?

Is that patio covered though? I'd imagine there's a roof/overhang going on.
Usual option is to fit a french drain style system.

There will be a slot drain at the windows to keep water away from blockwork above dpc, patio will have a decent slope away from the house, ideally with some gravel/etc under the lawn edge.

As to where it drains TO, well that's what you need to worry about.

If you have the patio level with the door cill, won't that mean flooding risk in heavy rain? I wouldn't have it level.

It shouldn't if the slot drain and falloff from the doors is right.

Of course this does depend on it being done properly with traps etc for the slot drain to be cleaned, which it usually isn't. Nor is much thought usually given to where water drains. "Good enough" is the usual mantra with UK groundworkers and it absolutely isn't.

I'd be nervous unless the fall and slot drain were done properly. The drain destination seems like the key bit rather than just having a channel in front of the doors.
