We had a week's holiday in France last week. Before we went, Mrs Chri5 realised that the stage 4 of Le Tour was starting in Carcassonne and wee were staying about an hour west, so a great chance to see the start of a stage in France. We got the train in and the day started well with a visit to the fan park by the station. For filling in a form online I bagged an EF Education buff and started eating my own body weight in free samples of some custard pot desert things.
We walked down the start expecting it to be really busy but we bagged a great spot right on the start line.
The caravan was ace and we were harvesting free stuff like there was no tomorrow. Enough hats to last a lifetime, plus biscuits, crisps, bags, drinks, more custard pots thingies, a pair of oven gloves and something I'm still laughing about, a 500g bag of dried pasta

Most appreciated vehicle in the caravan though was the fire brigade who had somebody sat on the back of a pickup and were spraying mists of water into the crowd as it was utterly roasting. This was our final pile of merch:
Team cars were going through the start to get up the road. Quite a few had Starlink antennas on the roof. You'd never lose an EF car in a car park:
The Lotto cars had a lovely wrap:
Bikes of the day for me were these Wiliers of FDJ - stunning paintwork on them
The closer it got to the rollout, more and more people appeared around the startline. Cav had been interviewed on stage before the rider presentation and he walked past us, though my picture of the back of his head isn't worth uploading
Jonas was really early getting to the start line. Pog' never even made it to the his space on the front and whizzed past once everyone had started. One of the UAE riders started about a minute behind everyone
We were toasted by this point and glad to go find some shade as the race convoy and team busses headed off. Oh, I know car's bake in the sun but when we got back to the station, I couldn't hold the steering wheel as it was too hot...
