We are playing today. vs Wrexham.

Heaton, Shaw, Heaven, Maguire, Yoro, JFletcher, Santos, Mount, Dorgu, Mbeumo, Zirkzee.

Very rusty so far but quite a strong team put out in the first half. Some of them look like they have forgotten how to play.
I'm liking Ayden Heaven. Playing LCB and always punching the ball forward. Debut for Santos - looks a bit slow so far. Mount and Zirkzee doing nothing as per usual.

I watched the first half only. It wasn’t a good watch

yeah it was really poor. Thought Heaven looked good again. Jacob Devaney did ok at CB in the second half but I didn't see much else worth noting.
I haven't seen either Fletcher look anywhere near the level and am starting to question why they are there. Oh well I'm sure they are all pleased to get 45 mins.

If Utd signed a guy called Mark Stairway and Gary Pennys then the commentators would get the chance to say Stairway to Heaven and Pennys from Heaven

I watched the highlights. Maguire looked like he's lost a his yard of pace.

Decent goal from Shea Lacey. Two pass move. Heaven finds Zirkzee who lays in Lacey in the inside right position, Checks in and finishes. Quite good.
I'm quite liking Santos so far. Has a nice punch pass forward and good in the tackle.

Wholesale changes at half time but it's now 4-0.
Goals from Zirkzee, Devaney and Amass. Amass goal showed something that we haven't seen from Luke Shaw since England vs Italy. Following in at the back post and scoring to end a swift counter.

5-0 in the end. Always nice to win and good that some of the youngsters can feel they played quite well. No debut for JJ Gabriel which I don't mind. He's being fast tracked a little too much for my liking at present. Athletico Madrid up next.

(LFC) Gomez injured already 7 minutes in to pre-season. Thought he'd get at least a solid 30 minutes before his rice krispy legs disintegrated.

Why any manager uses Gomez and expects him to last a match is beyond a joke now he just isn’t reliable.

Echos fact that we really do need more players in and we seem to be dragging our heels doing it

1-1 for the annual Gateshead friendly. Pope useless. Steur head and shoulders of most players on the pitch including our seniors!!

Not sure if that’s a good sign or bad. Time will tell.
