Nope.

Not even watching the trailer.

E: It's Amazon. Fallout is just about watchable, but everything else has had issues. I don't really want them anywhere near this, or Bond, but hey what can I do other than avoid it.

The original movie is in my top five of all time, I also very much enjoyed the sequel with Ryan Gosling.

I'm a sucker for dystopian sci-fi in general, and Michelle Yeoh has been excellent in everything I've seen her in to boot.

Happy to give this a shot, fingers crossed it's good but I'll be trying to temper my expectations.
 
They needed to leave it alone, just gonna trash it.
They got to stop tying in TV content right after the movie releases.look at that bene Gesserit debacle of a series, or foundation for that matter.

The last movie came out almost ten years ago, and this series is set close to 50 years after it.

It's absolutely possible for it to be good.

What Foundation movie are we talking about here? There isn't one as far as I'm aware.

I mean, they often do but not always.

It's not like they're torturing something with in depth source material the way they did with LOTR, the original Blade Runner itself was based on a fairly short single book (borderline novella) by Philip K. Dick.

While I understand your concerns, I'm very happy to give it a shot given how good the 2017 sequel was.

Agreed.
I'm at my curmudgeon stage of life, so the bitterness of age and all that.

I think it's like anything, the source material leads to the imagination going in unexpected directions.
My worry is they just hamper it like they did with say the Alien franchise. We really didn't need to know who the the space jockey was.

Look at the recent Backrooms, Iron ling, pretty good.

Probably the healthiest attitude, I've never understood why people seem to want stuff to be bad, or "this film has utterly ruined the other film that I loved".

I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it, as Bladerunner is one of my favourite films and the implied history/possibilities/world building from the original* mean there is so much that couold be done with the setting.



*Even just what was mentioned of the backgrounds of almost any of the rogue replicants, or a couple of the named scientists, let alone stuff that wasn't mentioned but you know must have been going on because of little bits shown/background detail.

Ah yea, the sequel that had Denis Villeneuve at the helm, arguably one of the best directors out there.

I know they've had input from Michael Green (writer for 2049 and the early graphic novel series, which isn't terrible) and Ridley Scott (not sure why?! the OG is an all time great, but reading all around it shows that is was more of a beautiful mess rather than a solid vision brought to fruition by Scott) , but still it's the TV format that is issue. We know writing in TV has been awful of late and I just fear this has every chance of tarnishing a pretty decent IP considering the plethora of canon now. I still haven't got through all the graphic novels yet as I'm half savouring/half fearing what the quality will be.

Well Black Lotus was good, so who knows, but I just don't hold much hope around Amazon productions.
 
It's going to suck unfortunately.

The original blade runner is probably my all time favourite film, but I have zero interest in this.

It's an Amazon production and we all know what they do with beloved IP's.
