Neat, hopefully it will mean the Superdock for the Superstation One is a bit more useful shortly. Not that I have that many games on original media, but its a convenient excuse for not using the SS1 since it arriving

The MM2 turned up its the digital version which I did not think would be a problem. Before I even tried to play any games I hit a major snag. My screen is a Dell 2007FPB and its DVI input. The digital version will not output a picture using hdmi to DVI unless I put it in DVI Mode. Doing this I lose audio out. So I have been googling and there does not seem to be a solution. The digital version has got USB ports and a HDMI out. Thats it. No audio out at all. You cant use a USB soundcard as the Linux version used in Mister does not output audio that way. I've tried some Arcade games on it and it plays well but I am not sure whether its worth it over emulation. Also I hate the menu system. I can see that really annoying me its not something you really want to navigate in an arcade cab

So it will probably be going up on the Members market tomorrow or later today should I say and I will consider whether to get a MM2 Analogue which are in stock and would suit my need as it has audio out or just stick to PC retro emulation.

I use one of these with DirectVideo… I think you would then just need a VGA2DVI adapter, worth a try for the sake of £5 before getting rid

Thanks but digital > analogue > digital I dread to think what it would do to the picture. I've put it up in the members market as I may get the analogue one.

It doesn’t work like that, it’s an analogue signal but using the HDMI connector. I’m not going to pretend to fully understand how works as you still need to use a DAC, but have a read of the MiSTer documentation on DirectVideo!

Yes I understand now its just the carrier.

I do to get the best possible picture quality. Using VGA is a backward step the difference would annoy me. I've decided to stick with PC Emulation the difference between that and FPGA to be honest I cant see the difference. Its not for console games more for Arcade games.

Being completely honest - if youre not going to be using a CRT of some kind PC emulation especially on 16 bit stuff is every bit as good as mister if youre using a panel that has a bit of lag on it.

The next best thing is mister on a fast oled monitor, ive got so many monitors here, 3 mini oled panels 14-19", a big widescreen oled, couple of oled tvs, a sony PVM, a diamondtron VGA monitor, a 2007FP from dell and a few others probably - i enjoyed the mister most on my 32" oled i had that i could rotate, it looked better than the CRTs which just sit unused now (although i am planning on moving, so everything is currently disconnected).
