Silent Hill 2 PC

I'm now in the prison, feels like I'm just walking from one nonsense to the next. Person dies in the hospital, don't care, no idea who they were or what relevance they are to the story yet. I don't think I've ever played a game this far in where I still have zero idea what is going on. I know story is hardly the strong point of games but this is something else lol. Thought I'd played it 30h already but was surprised to see that it was on 14h.
Maybe I'm too used to the shorter RE games but this really feels like its outstaying its welcome, and I just asked google which says the prison is only about two thirds of the way through lol.

Yea your kinda of not meant to know what's going on.

But hopefully will make some sense at the end.

I thought SH2 was excellent though.

I am playing Echoes of the Living which is essentially like old RE games. Really enjoying it. But it is much longer than old RE games so you might struggle with that :p

I finished a 30h game recently, but it had
an intriguing story so it wasn’t an issue.
Thanks for alpha testing that early access game though.

It basically has a Lion and Clair side like RE2. Lion part is done and devs working on Clair one which is slated to come out by end of rhe year I think.

Most bugs have been ironed out the past year tbh.

Worth grabbing at some point for sure.
 
SH2 has an amazing story so far imo. I don't fully know the reason why things are what they are yet but I can certainly hazard a few guesses based on what I've experienced so far. I'm just at the prison section.

What makes it amazing for you in particular? Don’t worry about spoilers, I’m not invested.

I’ve got snippets from reading all the memos etc, and a small spoiler from when I googled the drugs in the pharmacy. Hoping for that moment where it all comes together.
It may well have an amazing story, but up to the point I am now I wouldn’t call an incomplete picture amazing, intriguing maybe.

PS: Not being invested in the story doesn’t mean I’m not enjoying the game over all :) though I appreciate it probably reads like I don’t lol.

Finished the prison finally, was playing for quite a bit in the Labyrinth, not saved for a fair while and then my session was ended courtesy of AMD lol. Never crashed with the Nvidia GPU. Might leave it until I put it back in (if I ever do).

Edit. There was an autosave on boss fight so not lost much at all.

Picked this up recently as it was a decent price and hadn't played since it first came out. Looks great and plays really well. On the apartment building fairly early on.
 
I finished it last week, fantastic game. Could have done with some trimming /refinement towards the ends as starts to get repetitive and drag a bit but won't forget it in a hurry.
 
Thought I’d finally finished it but no, stringing it out a bit longer. This should have finished 10h ago.


Edit. And done, finally. I got the ‘leave’ ending. Won’t be doing new game plus mode lol.
