Always enjoyable but possibly the weakest season so far? That's doesn't make it bad at all but previous ones set a high bar and I felt this one didn't quite get there.

Bit disappointed in season 6, and the end, to much gunfire, not enough "working stuff out", lamb didn't have enough screen time, still confused over Sid roll, was she a good guy or bad, ending seemed very rushed

How did you work that out?
we did actually see Syril Khan

doing something just before him and the other russian terminator left rivers grandads house, also novichok was the original reason for this whole seasons plot

also Ho works in IT - no one ever said he was ever "trained" for guns or otherwise

i agree about the bungled hit on the house though - could have wreaked the bunch of them through the glass with those Mp5's
perhaps his hired help was subpar at best, and he seemed to be suffering / getting too old for this the whole season

I guessed the crow bar was contaminated. But we saw Sid thru the window so dunno how she didn't touch it. Anyhow, if indeed novichok then I assume thats the end of him.

Exiting for Bond ?

Also sad to see the other two characters go, the physcopath slow horse and the female ex-lead dog

Enjoyed it but did lean too much into the action side of stuff especially the last episode instead of being more spycraft like previous seasons.

Sad to see some of the 'OG' cast go especially Flyte, she would have been a good addition to slough house, bringing Sid back felt undercooked and more of oh yeah do you remember this character from the first season who was busy with other projects, well we brought her back (this is from someone who hasn't read the books purely TV watcher)

It feels like a build for the next (and final season).

they pretty much killed off the cast and heavily hinted that Sid is a double agent because the single light was a detail he only shared with Sid.
My only concern is it’s next season seems to have become an action oriented plot like all the american shows, whereas normal UK plots have thriller/psychological suspense.
Pity about flyte quitr liked her, but the character is a foil and not a main character.

They might as well call it the Lamb, Ho and Taverner show given the actual confirmed returning actors LOL... though weirdly seems like Jonathan Pryce might be back for the next season - not sure if that is just like flashback stuff or something else.

I actually think it might benefit having a good clean sweep mind - I think there is mileage in a whole new set of slow horses under Lamb without necessarily killing off or permanently removing all the old ones.

Season 7 is already done, season 8 is green lit and in production.

I don't think there is much of an overall arc to be honest.

There's certainly character arcs across seasons, but season 7 is the first one for a while that looks like a more direct sequel to the previous season in terms of it still involving the Russians.

Watching the trailer at the end of the last episode it made the s6 ending feel like a mid season break 'come back next year' to see how we wrap it up.

Yes, as I said

But for example, Shirley's substance abuse has been a running theme for a few seasons, wasn't even mentioned in this series (as far as I remember) and then in the trailer at the end for season 7 you've got Lamb telling her to get clean.

So that's a character arc thing they are coming back to.

Just finished S06, enjoyed it as much as the others! Could have done with S07 to go straight into as it does seem like its been left hanging.

With S07 already done will we get it early next year or will it be a 1yr wait?
