What sort of size is your business?

If it's a local or in-one-city thing then stick with a local number.

I would rather call a business which has a local number than some 0845 one.

The 0845 number will earn both you and the Telco money.

I would only suggest having a local rate number if your business is national. If it is local, keep a local number it is so much easier. The 0845 number wil terminate on your local number anyway.

Aha, but a non-geographic number is useful to redirect around the place. We use an 08x and an 01x, seems to work ok.

Yes I agree but say I needed someone to I don't know, paint the house.

I open the yellow pages or have a look in some local magazine and their are 2 people.

Jim's Painting and Home Painting Ltd

If Jim has a local and mobile number and the Ltd company just have an 0845 then I call Jim first.

i want to ger a 0845 number for my business! just wanted to know if anyone here has had any experience with these guys? http://0845.uk2numbers.co.uk/index.cfm

I use them for an 0845 number, never had a problem with them. Call forwarding has allways worked fine.

EDIT:

Maa.. he's Permabanned anyway.

Soo long, thanks for the fish etc etc.

For those that dont know.... 0345 is the 'new' 0845 and for those with mobiles OFCOM have announced these have to be treated as 'normal' numbers i.e. not premium or outside allowance.

Though on reading further, didnt know he was Permbanned :(
