Games you can't seem to grasp and enjoy that other people make look amazing!

You're right, it was The Phantom Manace, although I picked a copy of Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy and it looked the same on the pictures so I took it back to the store unpacked, didn't want to go through that again

Oooh, big mistake!!! :p

Episode One was just some console horrid game of the film that was made in a weekend, Jedi Knight on the other hand is a well polished, story and action driven game with proper lightsabre fighting :) I personally find Jedi Knight II (and less so Jedi Academy) as a couple of the best games of the last few years. Find yourself the demo of either of them and you *could* be swayed, though don't hold it against me if you're not :p

C&C Generals, screenshots looked great, playing it was bad, i just about done the tutorial and gave up with it :( i might give it another go, since i spent £30 on it thinking that i would like it because i liked the other C&C games :(

Battlefield 2, well any of the battlefield games, i swear im shooting heads 6-7 times before they finally die, yet it only takes 1 hit on my left big toe to kill me

Black and White was supposedly amazing 10/10, i could never understand why

Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast was a brilliant game! Loved the single player missions and it was great online.

I can't really remember what Jedi Academy was like. Some guy who made his own saber and his trainer is that Kyle guy, I think.

Ahh you've made me want to install again :)

Fear, repeative upto about halfway.
Prey, same as above, repeative.
Oblivion, played through a fair amount but its dead boring really.
Counter Strike - Can't see the fasination with this game, its one of the most popular games on the net but its one of the worst games i've played.
Star Wars games - All of them bar Empires at War which was ok.
Civilization games - They've not changed much imo, and just as boring as the others.
X3 - poorly coded and overkill on the menu's, loved X2, hated X3 though, the menu system meant anything that took 5 seconds in X2 now takes about 20 seconds, i want my time spent playing not navigating menu's.
Thief/Thief 2

Love Final Fantasy games, and pretty much any RTS game..... though some are disappointingly overkill with complexity.

Games don't give the same gameplay they use to, nor do they get coded half aswell as they use to, its all money money money these days!...

Only spent a few mins to type this but i've played loads of games, and the old ones are still some of the best.

JKII is not much for the first few levels, bog standard shooter albeit in the Star Wars Universe which raises it. However once you get the lightsabre and force powers its fantastic.

Oblivion. Looks fantastic in the screen shot thread, but once you realised that the grass is just the same over every one of the hills it gets boring! Plus I couldn't get a hold of the control scheme.

Remember it's not about games you don't like or games you think are overrated, it's that something else.

I think Oblivion, Bloodlines, X3 etc etc are great games, i just can't seem to get into them for some weird reason.

Indeed, "overrated games" lists have been done to death on this forum over the years and this is a slightly different topic. It's games which you really think SHOULD be enjoyable, they have all the right ingredients but somehow you find yourself switching off.

Another one I'd go for is Art of War. Maybe it just lacks the charm of the old C&C games.

As regards JK2, I agree that the screenshots/vids of mass lightsabre battles make it seem a lot better than it actually is.

Oblivion tried installing a couple of times but just can't get into the thing !!
Prince of Persia Sands of Time got boring very quickly, likewise the Splinter Cell series, i've tried all of them but they just don't click with me at all.

:(

Deus ex. just bored me and I thought the storyline was puerile nonsense.

Rainbow 6 rogue spear etc. Boring.

Pro Evo. Carp controls and slow and finnicky.

World of Warcraft. WOW it is boring.

For me it would be any games like c+c/wow etc.
oh and footie games :o I think I have 2 left feet :p

I do play America's Army a lot and you would think I would be able to play BF2, but I can't understand it at all

WOW - Boring full stop! Don't understand the fascination with this?
BF2 - Single player was good, but didn't like the multi player.
CS:S - Just can't get into this for some reason? I want too because so many people play it but I really can't stand it! Think I just prefer old school deathmatch TBH. Quake 3/4, FEAR etc.

Rome: Total War - really couldn't get into it

KOTOR - even after nearly everyone had said it's amazing I didn't like it and kept getting frustrated with it

RTCW + ET - Absolutely ahted them both. Perhaps if I had played them before cod I might have liked them.

WOW - I just cant seem to see what others see in it. The vids of the higher level game look 'ok' but its the lack of community when i first enter the game that puts me off. Or rather, there is a community there to greet me with my shiny new toons but they've been edjits in my experience, albeit limited to a couple of free trials experience.

I really enjoyed the skirmish matches in c&c generals, the campaign bored the life out of me, you should give them a go instead.

well at first i installed steam, (i bought hl2) i played on it for 10 mins and got bored with the loading screens, then took an hour updating css and it was one of the worst and most laggy multiplayer games i have ever played. then when i got my new pc i thought i might as well give it another go so installed it (another hour updating) then played hl2, i was hooked and completed it in 3 days, then played css and i still love the odd dual pistol ownage on cs_office =]

another game was silkroad online, i played it up to level 10 or so then got seriously bored with it but a few months later i played again with a new character and loved it.

in my opinion some games just dont interest you at first but if you give them a try a few weeks/months down the line you see something new and i just get hooked.

p.s. downloading fear combat (ITS FREE!!!) and see what thats like then might buy the single player.
