Got the Manchester 100 tomorrow, its a bike ride around chesire, I am doing the 60 Mile route couple of others are doing the 100 mile route, doing it for the fun of it and I have been biking day in day out since April.

Anybody on here doing it?

Just got in, took me 4 hours and 40 mins came first from the group I went with.

2 Hours before the next person finnished.

Had to wait till 7pm for people to finnish the 100 miles and I had finnsihed at 1:40

rofl, should have done the 100 :P

good work tho mate, shows all that riding in the last few months was more than worthwhile :D

Aye, even put semi slicks on my bike made it 10 times easier, we only set off at 9 should have been 8, i caught up to a lot of people, but there was some pro bikers there with the £3k racers and gear.

60 was enough the roads where abit poor and I got soaked for the last 4 miles apart from that it was a great day out, gonna do the manchester to blackpool next year.

The guy who finnished the 100 miler first did it in 3 hours 30

If anyone heres doing it, may i suggest taking some L&B to throw at scallies running after you as the route goes near Crewe.
Also, i suggest welding/glueing everything removable from you & the bike.
:p

The 60 mile route was great all through the countryside and some really nice areas, saw a few nice cars aswell.

It was throwing it down with rain when I finnished and about 50 people where there and they cheered me on as with everybody, great day out.

Thats some going on a push bike, and almost constant 29mph.

Seriously doubt that time, theres only several of the top time trialists ever in the country ever dipped under that time over the years

Heres fastest ever 100Mile TT's

What is everyones obsession with Time Trial times comparing them against times from a group of riders?....

Merely using those stats to suggest the winning time of 3hrs 30mins for the event is incorrect, after all the post stated "winner" not "winners" so I assume he finished alone, Unless the guy is at a very good standard and he was riding with a chain-gang and it was largely downhill with a tailwind I don't believe such a ride would be completed in that time, 30mph for 100 miles is proper 1st cat/pro or hard core time trial pace thats all and TT records easier to source than RR for quick ref

Wow, bring the thread backt o life why dont you :p

Regarding a ride like this, I would love to do it in the future.

Hopefully this weekend, weather permitting, I should be doing around 40-50 mins on saturday.

It was all south of Manchester then back round.

:( on holiday that date.

If I seriously think about doing something like this next year, I guess I will have to put the hours in doing some practice.
