Hi,

Getting sick of my Video footage stuttering and flaking out when using my Xbox360 and media centre. most of the time with SD stuff its OK, but you will always get at least one jump during a film. And as for HD stuff, no chance.

I know the only guarenteed way of geeting seemless streaming is via cables, but the new generation of Homeplug gear looks quite promising. especally the Devolo Homeplug AV dLAN 200.

Has anyone bought these yet and if so how are you finding it ?

Just dont want to spend £140 on something thats not going to be much better then my wi-fi connection

I am going to try the Netgear HD versions next week, as someone is lending them too me. I'll let you know how i get on with them as like you I don't want to spend money before trying them

any update on how you got on with these mate, still no prepared to splash the cash till I know of some people with real world good results

I've been using the Devolo plugs for about a year now, works very well.. It is a bit slow when viewing photos in XBMC, but for streaming its not problems what so ever.. Certainly beats drilling holes all around the house. :)

I bought the Advent ones from a competitor (much cheaper, same chipset), and I have to say they seem very quick. I can transfer a 50Mb file in about 3 seconds which is good compared to 802.11g.

And Zyxel do a multimedia specific streaming unit - could be worth looking at that.

Don't mean to hijack, but has anyone been able to try the Netgear HDXB101 Powerline HD Starter Kit yet?
Was looking to use them to replace a poor wireless connection but like others I'm a bit wary due to the cost.
