ANCO (i think) Kick Off 2

I know this is not a PC game (primarily it was an Amiga game - good old Commodore, still got a Vic 20 somewhere)

Do you remember how good this game was, i had many a fueled night of alcohol and wacky backy (lame, i know)

Sensible Soccer did not cut the cloth....(stoned kick off 2 did)

Pivotal memories in my youth, oh yes

Kick Off 2 was my all time favourite footy game, played for hours and hours each day for about 2 years lol. Was it Extra Time that gave an in game ref? Goal never really stood up to it although was a fun game in it's own right. Player Manager was a superb game though :).

I remember it. Indeed it was a superb game - I actually like SWoS for the career mode (with all the proper player names) and KO2 for the actual game.

I'm sure there's some online leagues of it - where people have developed software so you can play it over the net.

Don't have any links yet - I'll find some later.

absolute class game. So much fun. I never saw the need for sensible soccer after playing this and never really got into it.

Sensi Soccer was for video game fans.

Kick off 2 was for true footy fans and owned Sensi's ass

/me breaks out the emulators...

:D

I used to play this a lot. iirc a player called A Randall for england was very quick

Ahhh many a QuickShot 2 Joystick broke on the Tuesday night football club.

The plastic pitches were hard to get used to but boy you could put some aftertouch on those volleys

ewww quickshot 2 for Kick Off 2?!?!

Sorry, the only joystick this should have been played with was the competition pro! :D

Still a classic game though, would be nice to see it on XBLA

The comp pro? Was that the clear plastic one with red handle and buttons? If so that rocked. I had just the one and it lasted me for over 10 years..

Zipstick was black with yellow handle and buttons was it not? I went through 3 of those with Track and field...:D

Wonderfull game was KO 2.. I used to own the compitetion with my one on one finishing.. deadly I was. :p

I also loved player manager that was amazing. SWOS was good to but got boring after a while.

I loved this game for the Amiga. SDR Wells, G Nichols, R Barber . . .

There was a remake for the PC - Kick Off 2002. Wasn't as good though.

And sorry, but the best joystick for this game was the Speed Stick. We went through maybe four of them. The novel way your hand wrapped under it made it the most comfortable joystick ever. Shame they broke so easily.

Used to love Player Manager which used the same engine but had a management ascpect as well as being able to participate in matches, played this game for days on end

Once swos came out though I never went back to any of the kick off games as Sensi took it to the next level.

I used the arcade pro (i think it was called that, grey thing with a red joystick and 6 red buttons) for KO2 when i wasnt using a ZipStick.

I might still have a speed-stick in the loft......

KO2 all the way, never been anything better since.

What a game Kick Off 2 was. I had the World Cup Edition, which was pretty much based on World Cup 90

I remember A Randall in the England team. I'm trying to remember a few more. Very slow right back. Maybe it was H.H Day

some very entertaining Kick Off 2 moments on youtube
