GTS 320Mb Vs GTS 640Mb Vs 2900XT

only thing that is known for sure is that the 2900xt has the highest power consumption out of all the cards around and they do run very hot.

Get either the 640MB 8800 GTS or the 512MB ATI Radeon 2900XT... and out of those? Whichever is cheaper and whichever company takes your preference. Either way you aren't going to be disappointed and no matter what people say those two cards are near enough on par with each other. Yeah the 2900XT will get 5 FPS more in some games, and vice versa but it's not exactly game changing :)

How about overclocking? When both cards are overclocked to typical max clocks on stock cooling which is faster?

2900 as far as i know.

heres another review with some of the other games that all reviews use, CoD2, Fear etc... using the 7.4's, and the Forceware 158.22's for Nvidia, as you can see 2900 is the better again, sometimes not by much, other times by quite a lot, and its up with the GTX in some.

As was pointed out above, it is the faster card, all you have to take into consideration now is the heat, power, and noise.

Can anyone show me the GTS beating the GTX/Ultra in a few games with AA on just like the 2900.

Most games the 2900 is faster than the GTS, some cases by 20-20+ frames, also beats the GTX/Ultra in some with AA, can the GTS do that, is the GTS whooping the 2900 by up to and over 20fps in the few games its better in, is it also faster than the GTX/Ultra in some with AA etc...., if so show me those reviews.

The 2900xt doesn't seem to clock badly either though...don't people get around 800mhz at least on stock cooling?

Which one performs best overclocked is really what I'm concerned about most...for example my 7900GT has done quite well for itself due to its overclocking...

In the 3dmark06 feature tests it scores:

Fill Rate - Single-Texturing 7576.862 MTexels/s
Fill Rate - Multi-Texturing 15747.506 MTexels/s
Pixel Shader 332.733 FPS
Vertex Shader - Simple 210.490 MVertices/s
Vertex Shader - Complex 67.646 MVertices/s

I'm not sure what an overclocked x1900xt or x1950xt scores but according to here http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=511730&page=1 a stock X1950XTX scores:

Fill Rate - Single-Texturing 6132.795 MTexels/s
Fill Rate - Multi-Texturing 10308.639 MTexels/s
Pixel Shader 293.541 FPS
Vertex Shader - Simple 187.335 MVertices/s
Vertex Shader - Complex 62.026 MVertices/s

Overclocked the x1950xtx would no doubt slaughter my 7900GT but for the price the 7900GT wins.

which card is the fastest for test drive unlimited?

I thought it was the 2900xt, funs a hell of a lot smoother for me, but I was using 16xAA/AF with my GTS at 1440x900, getting around 35-45fps most of the time, now with the 2900XT it never dips to like 10fps in 100% smoke cover and I can get frame rate up to 75fps sometimes, but then again, its only running 4xAA/16xAF, so cant compare since you cant use CCC AA in TDU, so it's unknown.

Most people can get 850Mhz and 1000Mhz on the memory, apparently 975Mhz on the memory is better than 1000Mhz due to timings or something.

damn, tdu suffers badly from lots aliasing so more AA the better in that game.
will wait till i replace the media pc next year then and hope the x1950pro i got on order does the trick till then.

media pc uses a 7600gs, runs a rez of 1360x768, in tdu hdr is disabled and aa is also disabled and fps is still low at around 20fps. in car game need much more fps than 20.
hopefully x1950pro can manage it.

my x1900xt manages 1280x960 with hdr on and 16xAF with NO AA and gets over 30fps 96% of the time

Yea an X1950Pro will manage it maxed out, I wish I could get AA to work in CCC, would like to be using 16xAA, but 4xAAA is good enough, just 4xAAA makes my char grow a beard and other crap happens.

yep you showed those pics, its damn funny and it just doesn;t make any sense to me at all how something like that would happen :p

that i agree on, although id have to say in my opinion its probaby the best car game iv played since grand turismo.
all other car games iv played have the engines perform like formula 1 cars/honda vtecs, no real feeling of the torque curve, even forza 2 on xbox360 is poor in its car engine torque mapping. the viper is the best example, in tdu it has proper low end torque, in forza 2 engine only gives power if you rev the nuts of it honda vtec style.
tdu buggy but i love it.
