This is beyond a joke I went into a CSS Server today and was getting between 9 - 30 Frames, I'm using the newest Beta Drivers on Vista x64 I expected a big massive improvement over my 7800GT 256mb but instead the game is running about 20times worst what am I doing wrong here?

In Nvidia control panel try turning off threaded optimisation (either in global settings or program settings for the CSS profile). Some older games really don't like it, and either stutter or experience unexplained FPS drops.

Try it. If that doesn't help, also try the dual core optimiser patch from AMD's website.

Hi there, The threaded optimisation is off and the performance is still poor I tried this when you posted just downloaded the core optimizer patch and will try this out thanks

Try a driver cleaner, failing that...

Fresh install of windows, can do it in a couple of hours. :D

Got everything on one hard drive windows is on my rapter, I tried a driver cleaner the thing is Bioshock runs no probs but CSS just ain't havin' it I wanted something to play between Now and till Unreal 3 comes out. Is a fresh install really what I need this windows was only installed last wednesday

CSS is fine on here, never had any problems with CSS and thats going back 9 months of me having this card.

If your running fraps... Might be a very small chance that you're turning on the Video Capture, as i think that would limit your fps.

So Bioshock runs fine, just CSS... so I don't think the card is to blame for that one. Can you do a fresh install of CSS, do you even install this game (it's Steam or something ain't it?). Sorry I don't know much about it as I don't play it. :)

I remember when I play HL2 you can clear out the cache or the textures and make it do something to clear them out, could something like that work here?

Is your PCI-E slot running at full speed, the fact it works again once you reseat card means it could reset back to correct speed which is 16x on your Mobo.

I'm trying a fresh install on CSS this time I'm downloading it from Steam instead of installing it off the CD I brought its running on high @ 1680x1050 when I first started it up Trilinear filtering I changed that to Antilaising is on 4x msaa or something I changed the filtering to 8x. I mean this card should have no probs the whole lot wacked on the highest

I've tried reinstalling CSS, Steam the lot
A Driver Cleaner and installing new drivers
Messing about with settings
Taking my GFX card out and placing it back in

Nothing seems to be working could my CPU be getting too hot?

Turn all the quality improving settings off see what kind of frames you get.
If they seem to be normal try adding in 1 at a time for example a little aa
see what happens then af and hdr. This may help to find out whats
slowing it down.

I've turned it all to lowest settings and I only got around 8x.xxFPS on the average the Frames there was a bit of a jerk before it went into the invisible man with the flames behind him and with everything turned on high, water detail to reflect all, Filtering on to Anisotropic 16x, Antialiasing 4x MSSA*, and the HDR is set to Full (if available) *. I got 5x.xxFPS and I've just tried again and got 64.49Frames after a Reinstall of the Nvidia Beta Drivers
