I squint whilst reading this thread now. Its totally ruined.

*Note to all*, if you've done something cool in regards to this game, please don't post anything here to spoil it for the likes of people who are here for widescreen and general info etc. We can certainly understand your enthusiasm but please please no more gameplay info, did i say please?

Normally I can only get limited hours in during the week due to work going out e.t.c. but today the girl friend was at work, so picked up where I left off last night and have been playing it all day. I didnt want to put it down.

Do you choose to harvest or resuce the little girl? thing is what are the real benefits other than you get 80 if you save and 160 if you harvest. But what are the long term benefits of each?

To be honset I'm normally the same with most of the games today. But with Bioshock I wanted to keep going on and on. Great game.

Up to you mate. More adam allows you to add to your talents which can be brought from the machines around.

I've been rescueing them all. I couldnt bring myself to harvest them haha.

Also you do get rewards for rescueing them left at the Gatherers Garden Machines.

What rewards?

Those Big daddys are so hard to kill and take all my First Aid Kits, ammo and EVE coz they take so much firepower to kill.

Hope those mines can kill em quick.
 
i just completed the demo. does the full game run just as well as the demo does?

i thought there would be a lack of plasmids cause ive only seen about 4...the ice one, fire, electricity and insect swarm.. but theres over 70???

There aren't 70 plasmids but there are over 70 plasmids and tonics combined, tonics give you attributes like hitting your wrench harder for example.

Urgh.

I got to the beehive/market area and had collected a few of the things that you needed to get and then the game crashed :(:(

I love the big daddies though, i freeze them, get to a distance, and napalm the things, shock and repeat with a sprinkling of grenades and shotgun rounds. :D

Rescuing the kids as I want to be the good guy :p
 
So in the long run am I better saving or harvesting them?

You say saving them gets rewards yet one of you say you've saved 4 and only got one reward so far. Yet if you harvest you get more adam for building your talents.

So it's best to rescue or harvest in the long run till the end of the game?
 
I'm killing them on my first run through on hard and then I will save them on the second run through on medium :cool:

I was really torn between harvesting and saving the first little sister I got my hands on. They are weird looking and quite freaky but they do act sort of... cute... Like when they are walking along and they get all excited over a poster or something and when the big daddy dies they really do seem extremely upset, crying as if they have lost a close family member.

Its your choice at the end of the day, its one of the things that make this game so great so I think it is best if you decide what to do with them. I believe that dependent on what you do the ending of the game is different.
 
As someone who saved the little ones, I felt there was no drawbacks. You don't get a reward for everyone you rescue, you need 3 or 4 of them, and then you get a nice little reward. Plus you avoid the guilty feeling... ;)
 
Okay so what kind of award(s) did you get for resucing 4 of them or what not?

Is there any other benefits to saving them?

If it helps, if I wanted a slightly easier time round as it's first time playing it what am I better doing.

OK,

If you harvest them you get full adam, allowing you to purchase many talents and upgrades such as more health e.t.c.

If you save them, sometimes, not sure when but you normally get packages to say thanks. These come in the shape of health, eve and such. Pretty handy although normally can be found the levels. However in some instances you get quite a bit of adam. Ive had +200.

Either way you can't really go wrong. However if you don't harvest any of the girls, a different ending awaits....
