Ugh. It's a sad day today - one of the few games to excite me in the past couple of years has been sullied with one of these silly "official" threads.

What's the problem? . It keep's all discussion into one thread and it's not like I have made a crap thread I've provided all the information people will want to know aswell as helping a few people know more about the game just from posting this. There is always one  , my S.T.A.L.K.E.R thread was one of the most popular threads in PC Games of all time :) .

I paid 34.99 for mine but I did have a £5 voucher with said company.

Edit: Well, finished reading that review.. and frankly.. i really cant wait. Havnt been excited about a game like this for a while, and that its due out in under a month is great, rather than waiting years. Irrational should be laughing all the way to the bank, thats a stonking review and even though i pre-ordered on a whim earlier due to my new computer coming soon, i would definitely be ordering now.

Q.F.T. It's going to be absoloutly superb.

Few snips from the review

The HUD on the PC is virtually identical in appearance to the one on the 360, except for how weapon selection is handled. Not really a surprise. (Notice I said HUD, not the vending machine UIs which we've already seen.)

The harvesting process for the Little Sister has been toned down in the final version, from earlier versions of the game. The reviewer states that he feels the "choice" you have to make has now become rather anti-climactic.

The reviewer mentions that the game was "dazzlingly beautiful and hitchlessly smooth" on an Athlon X2 5200, single 8800GTS, at 1600x900 in DX9 running at max settings.

From this article they state that the game has also gone Gold. Can I get a Yeeeehaww :D :p

After the results of the Game Critics Awards were announced last week, we reached out to several winners for their reactions and some updates about their games in progress. The winner of Best Action/Adventure Game was BioShock from Irrational Games. We emailed some questions to Ken Levine, co-founder of Irrational Games. Here's what he wrote back:

What was your reaction to winning Best Action/Adventure game?
We've always won a ton of E3 awards for BioShock from the press, but we never picked up a judges' award before. So it was really gratifying.

BioShock has already gone gold. How have you celebrated this milestone in the past, and how did you celebrate this milestone for BioShock?

We just had a team party in Boston, and then we have a event on the launch night on August 20th, which we’re inviting lots of people to, including members of the BioShock fan community. I'm actually looking forward to that, because launches are usually such abstract things. You wake up launch morning and it’s like, "Hey, our game has, umm, shipped to retail!" It’s not exactly like headlining at Madison Square Garden.

With BioShock already getting great reviews, and Harmonix's Rock Band receiving early accolades, 2007 looks like a breakout year for the Boston game development scene. Is there anything that distinguishes game development in Boston from that in other cities, and how much is the departed Looking Glass Studios responsible for laying the foundation for what we see today.

I think LG had a LOT to do with it. Greg LoPiccolo was one of the key guys on Guitar Hero and Rock Band, along with lots of other former LG people. Irrational is just crawling with former LG people. Hell. I wouldn't be in Boston (or maybe the games industry at all) if LG didn't hire me and move me up here. It is strange to think that two of the biggest games of the year are Boston bred.

Oh yeah the video was well good! I felt sorry for the Little Sister slowly backing away from that Splicer aiming a wrench at her face. :(

Edit: Anyone else think the graphics seem better on some of that new footage?

They seem really polished yea, I love it when the Big Daddy's give the splicers a nudge, sends them flying like ragdolls and landing like a sack of ****. :D
