Arctic Cooling Arctic Fan 12025L

Have you considered Noctua NF-S12 800RPM 120mm Silent Case Fan - 3 Pin ?

I cant comment on the Arctic personally but the Noctuas are quiet

Thanks :) But finding the Noctua's (very) expensive  I mean the AC's seem a steal if you consider the specs especially bearing type!

From my research others use either sleeve or ball bearings. More expensive ones have some other fancy type including Fluid Dynamic Bearing. Surprised the 12025L use that & are quite cheap. Was hoping for feedback before I purchase some :)

Yeah I'm sure there are a few peeps here who know their stuff on fans etc.

I just use anything that I think is gonna be quiet, however I realised that what is quiet to some people is loud to others so in the end I just ended up buying a few fans and testing/using them myself, I mean its not going to break the bank is it?

So apart from whether or not a fan is quiet, and how many CFM's it can push what are factors are involved in choosing a fan?

Does this bearing stuff effect the noise levels or is that something to do with how long the fan lasts?

Think it does affect both. Some bearings are susceptible to dust, etc wearing down faster making them noisy.

Problem I have is wanting my system even quieter. Find the Akasa Ambers in my current case noisy & they are rated @ 20dB(A) though 80mm & Twin ball bearing :o
