Not really much point to this thread but..

I don't like to turn on the news and see white people pretending to be black people at the Nottinghill carnival.

You can't dance, youre supposed to watch from the sides.

Well I was there yesterday

And there were plenty of whites + tourist,

To be fair the ones who had joined in were the hippy/ chav type.

If theres a street party on, people are going to join in regardless of their race.

I went years ago......... thousands of people, no room to move..... BBQ'd corn everywhere.....

best avoided !!!

Who's up for a sweepstake on how many really violent crimes there are this year?

I'm going to say 37, including a few stabbings and a rape. A mass of hooded 'niggaz' thugs steaming through the crowd counts as two offences, if more than 15 are involved then it's three.

There are plenty of white people i know who don't try to act like anything and are some of the best dancers i know.

I pretty much lived in the carnival for 12 years (ladbroke grove). It doesn't matter what creed, colour or religion your from AT ALL. Just have fun, eat and drink.

And remember, there are MANY different floats with lots of different type of music ranging from calypso to house.

So what im trying to say it who cares about what colour you are, just have a good time and dance if you want.

Surely it is less a case of "White people pretending to be black" rather a street party where everyone is just enjoying themselves?
How many weddings have you been to where everyone who gets onto the dance floor is an "excellent mover"?

It's all about the atmosphere and the fun surely?
What next - patrols stopping anyone not acting "kewl" enough from doing anything but watch from the side-lines?

There were a handful of black guys at a Status Quo concert last night who were pretending to be white by putting their heads down and headbanging.
