well the past 2 months i have been thinking of getting a new car, i thought minis, clios and other hot hatches. Other day i saw a Suzuki Swift, Today i popped down the local dealer..... And ended up ordering one of these:

1.6, 125bhp, twin exhaust, 17" alloys. Pick her up on the 17th sept if all goes well, nice shiny 57 plate, cant wait :)

Well I agree with the title of your thread. MINI or swift, for me the choice wasn't the one you made.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.

for what they are, they are suprisingly nippy. The reason i never went for the mini was the price difference, new mini is around 14-15k brand new. I was looking more around 11k, if i were to buy an 11k mini then i would only have a years warranty and would have a limited spec. The swift on the other hand, 3 years manufacturers warranty, 3 years breakdown cover. Plus im not the smallest of chaps, and the swift has a bit more room.

Err the old Swift was far from stupidly quick.

I was relatively quick when it first came out in the mid 80s. However it was rather dated by the time Suzuki put it out of it's misery almost 20 years later.

From what I've heard the new one isn't too bad.

That's not how buying 2nd hand works. Generally you get the pick of spec seeing as the price difference between optional extras is low. You also would have lost less money on initial depreciation.

Can't argue against the warranty though.

Love the look of these cars, big wheels in gunmetal grey with viper stripes looks fantastic. Wouldn't mind a go in one at some point.

Neil.

would have loved gun metal grey, but only colours for the sport or red, silver and black. Dont like red, black gets dirty to easy and silver is for lazy people :D

I hate it when the sporty models get the thin end of the wedge when it comes to colours.

The colour they use on the Suzuki SX4 add is fantastic. Sunburst copper pearl or something like that. Would easily be my choice but only available on the standard model not the sport :(
