I've got an earlier revision of the Dell, and it is really lovely.

I haven't used the Samsung so I can't really comment.

Same decision as i faced when going for a 24". The samsungs cheap price is very tempting coupled with their reputation for great screens. But as its a TN panel the viewing angles are not great, compared with the dell.

The other reason why i opted for the dell was the wide range of inputs on it, and also the swivelling on the screen / USB ports, so i don't have to deal with plugging into the tower that much.

I (personally) thought the dell was worth the extra, and don't regret my purchase. Lets not forget that dells warranty and dead pixel policy is second to none.

Sorry to throw a spanner into the works, but what about the BenQ 24" screen. Would people still go with the Dell then?

How come you didn't like it at first?

desktop wise...briliant....FPS gaming...i thought I was getting some ghosting. But I tried back in my old monitor...at that was the same..sortof. Just that the size of the screen makes things a lot more visual. Now...when i go back to my old 20" widecreen...its pathetic compared to the BenQ. Id recommned the BenQ. Its basically the same panel as the dell 24" ers anyway...but all the reviews I read before buying said that the Benq had a better image quality.

Cheers for the reply. :)

Colours really arent as good with a TN panel. thats where this slightly more expensive panels come to light.

yep, thats correct, but unless you use photoshop and stuff i dont see why it matters as much.

for gaming id probably prefer the samsung, as the viewing angles dont matter to me personally.

nope no photoshop. use it for gaming and watching movies, thats pretty much it, used to be a programmer but since career change dont get into it lately...
