I had never heard of this film before until the other day, watched it and it's class! I'm surprised it's not more of a cult classic!

waynes world is a cult classic?? according to imdb, it's grossed over $450m usd. its hardly a cult classic lol

oh and go and watch clerks II now lol

Yeah, Clerks is pretty much the defenition of a cult classic. The seconds isnt as good but is still worth watching.

Obviously after having watched Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma and Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back.

To OP, Clerks is almost the defininition of a cult classic, as I've named above check out Kevin Smiths other films in which many of the characters and cross storylines occur. Some poeple love Kevin Smiths stuff, some hate it, he's a bit of a Marmite film maker.

ugh, that's easily the most annoying thing anyone's ever said. what's wrong with a film being in black and white?

clerks 2 > clerks, but clerks is still essential

Clerks is probably the most tightly scripted of the Kevin Smith films with the best dialogue, although I'm not sure if I could call it my favourite. It is definitely worth watching though and I'm pretty sure that cult classic is a fair description of it. :)

WHAT!

I found the 2nd to be a massive disappointment - a lot of the lines seemed incredibly forced compared to the banter between them in the first. That and the whole donkey thing just seemed too ludicrous, even for Mr Graves.

Aw, I really enjoyed it. I thought it ended really really well, which was what I was most afraid of. Didn't think anything seemed particularly forced either. Granted, the donkey thing was quite far-fetched, but I enjoyed it!
