At 12:10 p.m. on August 26, 2007, Owen Wilson was rushed to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California, by ambulance. Initial reports cited the reason as dehydration. He was discovered with superficial wounds to his wrists and a near-empty bottle of medical pills in the bathroom of his Santa Monica home,[15] by his older brother Andrew[16] but the authorities have not released any information that would substantiate those reports[17]. Andrew called 911 at 11:59 a.m.[18] Wilson was later transferred to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, where his condition was described as serious, but later upgraded to good condition.[19][20][21][22][23] On August 27, 2007, Wilson issued a statement: "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."[24]
