Ole Gunnar Solskjaer retires

ok fair enough but not everyone reads the man unt thread and others would have repsected his type of professionalism.

Hell of a player and gave me my best club game in the champ league win.

Nice guy and hopefully he'll teach some of the young kids a lot for the next scholes/giggs/neville/becks/butt generation.

He was one of those players who rarely grabbed the headlines and was never destined for global fame, but he always gave more than you might have expected.

Such a shame about his injuries, as I'm sure he'd have played a lot more over the last few years. He was the sort of player who, more often than not, came up with what was asked of him.

I'm sure a lot of ManU fans will consider him as a bit of a legend, especially after the Champions League win.

Definately one of footballs' 'good guys'.

sad to see him go also, but theres only so many ops you can go through and still be fit.

would like to see him replaced ASAP tbh as we have a hole in our front line that i dont think King Dong can fill...

Always remember his "tackle" on Rob Lee years ago when it was a must win game and as he was being sent off he just shrugged as if saying "i had to do it"

Linky

Crazy just how much pace he rhad in his prime to

We need more players like him who keeps going and going no matter how much their hurting.

I always think if you have someone in your team from the town / city the players like scholes, gerrard, carragher, shearer in his days, it means more to them and they keep going and give 110% in every tackle. Ole played like a true Manc, he will be missed.

Ole should be given the key to the city or something, an honourary Manc.

And a pat on the back as well, horrible to see, especially from a footballer like that.

yeah i'll always remember that tackle, showed his dedication to the club.
You can show dedication without cheating, or doing something so ridiculously unsporting as that.

I'd do it. If you need a scoreline and they are through, wouldn't you sacrifice yourself.
And none of that "It's only a game" nonsense, if you believe that you're not a true football supporter.
