If you think this game in multiplayer is anything like actual conflict then you are very much mistaken. ;)
 
But Operation Flashpoint instead. Pure gaming perfection with awesome mods.

The single player on ArmA is dreadful. The AI always seemed to be set to superhuman whatever level it was played on. You could crawl for miles hide behind a bush, not shoot or move and be in pitch black and the enemy would still see you and kill you from a mile away. Not realistic in the slightest.

Performance was never an issue for myself as I didn't play on max settings.

OF is definitely still far superior though.
 
Arma- Fantastic game, playing multiplayer loads-well worth buying especially as your getting a cut down version of the same software the american military use to train. Checkout this link and download the trailer for VBS2.http://www.vbs2.com/site/index.html

Also the game is best played with trackir, makes things loads more realitsic and in some cases easier.
 
I have just started playing AA after getting it for £15 last week. Multiplayed is awesome! I have been spending some time (way more than I thought) on the Jolt server and there are some nice chaps there. It is a shame you can't spawn from cities that you've captured and instead have to rely on heli transport or loooooooooooooong drives but that's my only complaint and I guess it adds to the tension when making contact, as you really don't want to die!

Im told the demo is awful and nothing like the game when played properly. This is not an arcade type game anyway.

People play it co-op so I stick to PR instead
 
Does anyone have any tips on improving FPS in the game? During multiplayer I am only getting around 20 FPS with a view distance of 800 and most settings on normal. My computer is fairly powerful and I am eager to get more!

Try turning Super Sampling off in your gfx drivers, it has a big impact on my 8800gtx
 
I enjoyed the single player..its very err..challenging

I think my favourite mission was blowing the bridge then trying to get out of the town

I managed to catch a bmp right at the edge of the bridge and it was damaged and fell into the river...the crew bailed out and came up the bank..so I hosed em down...was nice to see instead of the daft thing sitting there unable to get out up the steep banks
