I do it for a number of reasons. I began after a specific post (I will not link to it again [it is in a different forum]). I respected the person who signed off their posts, and thus I copied in the hope of earning respect from other users. I like signing off my posts. It is more formal.

I suggest we cease this off-topic discussion as in my memory the last thread regarding this behaviour was locked.

Wouldn't it be awesome if the forum software contained a mechanism by which it would automatically append such text to the end of every one of your posts to save you from typing it.




On second thoughts that'd never work, people would use it to post pictures of half naked ladies they wish were their girlfriend, cars they dream of owning and computer specifications they can't afford.
