Hi.
Ive recently moved to Vista64, and was wondering what FW & AV solutions, that are 64bit compatible, are recommended?

Thanks in advance all. :).

I was using Kaspersky until it went nuts on me and then kept causing my PC to freeze. I'm now using the Windows firewall (my router also has a firewall enabled) and am using NOD32 for my AV. This solution is working perfectly and I am definitely going to pay for NOD32 when the trial expires.

So AVG for the AV.
Im not keen on the windows firewall because it doesnt appear me to easyily select what apps can have network access and what cant. :(

I was always a big fan of Agnitum Outpost Pro firewall however I don't bother with it these days as I have a firewall on my router. Unfortunately it's not Vista ready yet, it's on its way. NOD32 for my choice of AV software.

Anti-Virus: Kaspersky 7
Firewall: Vista Firewall with outbound filtering enabled :). The only bad thing about enabling outbound filtering is it doesn't ask the user whether a program can or cannot connect, you have to create the rules yourself before a program can connect outbound.

I always use Avast as my free AV as on some latops I scanned that were riddled with viruses Avast picked up more that AVG.

Running Avast here and Windows Firewall on Vista 64

Right.
I have the installs for both Avast! & AVG sitting on my desktop.

Cant decide between the two. :(.

Im swaying towards Avast, because although it has a higher memory footprint(by quite a bit), its allways served me well in the past.

Stick with Avast :D

Bump!.

Right, i cant decided between AVG & Avast! Which one has the lowest memory footprint on Vista64?

And are there either any good firewalls out for Vista64, or a way to make the built in one function like a normal firewall, where i have to authorise every program for internet access.

Thanks.

##EDIT##
Decided on Avast! Its served me well in the past, and i can allways remove/replace it if nessessary.
Just the Firewall thing to sort now.

I am on Vista 64 and using a Nod32 + Windows firewall combo and never had any issues.

I can see that being apart of SP1... better control over the vista firewall.

Avast,Vista firewall, with hardware firewall in my router and Spybot,Spywareblaster,Windows defender .

I ditched Kaspersky 7 since some web sites were slow to load compared to other AVs,known problem so until they get it sorted I'm not going back to Kaspersky.

I'm using Vista x64 HP.
