You probably hammered Bioshock on either PC of Xbox 360 all weekend, but the FPS masters at Valve had no such luck; a ban has been imposed on them going anywhere near 2K's shooter until Half-Life: Episode Two and The Orange Box are finished and out the door.

"We had to ban Bioshock from our offices," Valve boss Gabe Newell told us. "Nobody gets to play it until Orange Box is done - that's our reward to ourselves as a company; everyone gets a copy of Bioshock."

:D

Article here...

That won't fix it Gabe.....all your programmers/artists will buy their copies elsewhere and be walking into the office in the morning red-eyed and dazed from playing it all night now :p

Its actually nice to see a company talking about another companies game with it being something theyre looking forward to playing. Usually these days you get snide comments or certain games devs act like they never heard of the game in question even though the net is buzzing about it.

You think they actually leave work ? ;)

gabe sounds such a pratt to me

Why announce this crap, perhaps they may even pickup a few good ideas from playing the game.

Why do you think he would announce it?...they sell it on Steam and no doubt get a tasty bit of comission for each sale.

Still, the game is amazing...and it's still probably quite true what he says.

Yes, stopping people playing games at the office, such a pratt!

In that line of work you must have to play games, i assume it must even become a drag.

Like any job you have to stay on top of your game, and you need a benchmark. Bioshock is THAT benchmark for the imediate future

This.

Bioshock is very good, when was the last good game shipped from Valves dockyard? 1998?

Another one of gabe's ideas?
