Hi all

My X1900XT has just died a painfull death ....

I am on a fairly tight budget and obviously need a new GFX card.
Running with the MSI 975X Powerplus mobo, Core2Duo E6300

Obviously chipset supports crossfire .... i was gonna get the HD 2600XT GDDR4 but it seems like its performance is no better than the X1900's was.

Wasn't looking to spend £200 for something like the 8800GTS...more like around £150 tops
Is there any card which would give some kind of performance boost from what i have but without spending too much .... this wasn't a timely expiration of the card.

Any thoughts?
Thanks

Your best of looking for a secondhand 320mb GTS for that price, as all new cards around £150 would be a downgrade, even the 2600 would be a downgrade, only card you can go to to give you a decent performance boost is the 320mb GTS which is the next up.

im wondering if the 8800gts is false economy.

There are no games that have a specific dx10 requirement and the x1950pro seems to cope more than admirably in all dx9 games. Would it be better to go for a 1950pro now and hang on until dx10 becomes a requirement, by which time the 8800 gts's will have dropped a lot in price?

Try running Dirt maxed out on an X1950Pro...
