BFG 8800GTX tempertures

High 50's to Low 60's is normal for these card @ Idle, Ultra and other newer REV3 Cores run a bit cooler.

Load temp is well within limits no worries, depending on Vendors Bios, the Core Slow down Threshold can be 110C or more.

Funny thing was I asked the same question and was told my temps were fine. Maybe according to nvidia but definitely not according to my computer which kept crashing.

My GTX would idle in the high 70's and hit the high 90's at load at stock settings. Anyway, the heat was causing my pc to crash whenever I'd play a game for a while. The moment I put on an aftermarket cooler, I haven't had any problems at all. My temps are much much more confortable now as well with nearly a 30ºC drop.

Could have been bad contact on Core, and obv any Core will OC more if better cooled as becomes more efficient, if is hotter than you would like then you need to address your case/fans etc etc, could be many aspects, the cards should not crash at 90c IMO.

As I said, the moment I put on an aftermarket cooler, I haven't had any problems so the heat is the only thing that could have caused it.

As for my case, I have one Scythe 1600rpm 120mm intake, two 120mm exausts (that came with the case) and an extra Scythe 1600rpm 120mm in the case to help push air towards the PCI slots. My cooling is sufficient I would think.

I'm just saying, just because the temp is within limits, doesn't mean it can't be causing problems.

I have to have the side panel off my akasa jsut to keep the tempertures of the 8800GTX below 90c :(

It's rather pricey but I picked these up and got a 30ºC drop in GPU temps. Even my CPU temp dropped by 5ºC. (For me it was either this or use the EVGA step up program but they wanted £110 + shipping just to go from the 8800GTX to the 8800GTX AC3.)
