company of heros - replace tanks

When you activate it, any tanks that die whilst activated will be replaced at your HQ. Not sure if it works for things like Tiger Ace / Persian tanks etc.

It works for all tanks but the ability needs to have been activated when your tank goes for it to be replaced. Handy for Calliope's, you get replacements quicker than it takes for the unit to recharge :)

Pershing.:p

The ability is called "Allied war Machine". Known more commonly among the community as, "Allied win machine" because it is so op.

Tbf its OP-ness isn't quite as noticeable in 1v1 games, but in large team games when two Allied players have gone Armor there is just way too many tanks. Shreckgrens and Tiger Ace do a fair job but basically the sheer number of tanks will beat you, and there's no way the Axis can take them out quick enough and keep a relatively organized front line. I think Relic planned (may have already done it in a recent patch) to reduce the time its active for and increase munitions cost.

Agreed. It's probably the most ridiculous special power in COH bar none.

If I had my way I'd also make off map tanks cost fuel. I mean you play well, deny the opponent any fuel points on the map, then he comes out with a pershing or tiger supertank and destroys your forces, and it leaves one thinking, why bother?

I was messing around with the trainer (basicaly cheat) and i made about 30 howitzers.

Set the target on an unsuspecting german building----boooooommmm. Germans everywhere. :D

Well if you are playing as allies then denying the axis any fuel points will mean they can't tech for a start, that should hurt them.

For both sides denying them fuel mean that all they will be able to field is infantry, which while good, are not match for a sustained infantry and armoured approach.

Denying the enemy of any fuel points will give you mass advantage. Yes they may have a pershing or tiger but since you have all the fuel you should have Panzers / Shermans allover the place, not to mention sticky bombs and rockets. Maybe you're focusing too much on stopping them getting fuel you forget to tech up and use the fuel yourself?

I agree 100% with the over power of the Allied War Machine, it'll be getting raped on the officials anyway so eventually it'll get fixed.

what you lot on about, the 'Allied War Machine' power is one of the best and most true to reality power on that game, it was real basically, it was the advantage the allies had over the Axis, more of everything, the axis simply used there tanks more efficiently, they were FAR better at mechanised war than the allies, plus their tiger tank was the single most powerful tank in the second world war i believe, second proberbly the russian T-34

Yes but we're talking about it in the game Company of Heroes. It's over powered in the game.

How is it over powered? I have fielded two pershings and lost one in a Tiger fight with the other limping back to base. By the time I had the other up there the Tiger was half repaired and still took a pounding. fact is the Allied war machine is the only thing that keeps the Allies competitive on an arnoured front - at least in a 2v2 map or above. 1v1 is a different matter.

You get free tanks as they die for a few munitions. You could launch your entire tank army into their base, let them die and instantly have all your tanks back whilst the enemy is totally crippled.

Meh, i rarely use armour with Allies

I tend to be more infantry style, using tactics a lot more too - I tend to just stug spam with Axis

Normally ill get Rifleman kitted out, an MG team and AT gun

Few M10 tank destroyers, flank enemy tanks - Hit em in the rear and they arn't so strong ;)

Also using a jeep or two througout a match is essential ;)

Once they get that anti-air gun whatever it's called your infantry is ****** :p

That anti-air unit is pretty good against any infantry without AT support but with AT weapons its not gunna last as long unless you keep it moving.

But i gotta agree the Axis tanks while fewer in number can stand up to fair pounding - a triple chevron AT gun with the armour pearcing rounds enabled still doesn't do all that much damage to a tiger unless from the rear !
