Corsa vxr laps the ring in 8m 47 secs

Didn't a diesel transit do it in 10min with a similarly experience driver? :D
Yes mate,

Sabine Schmidt BMW's "Ring Taxi" driver She broke the record for the Ring in a Sierra Cossie when she was a kid iirc! - I'd marry her, alas, she's already married! :p

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lg4a1rc4Xjk - Imagine the shame as she passed you in your GT/WRX/Blah blah in that bloody van!:D

doesn't really surprise me, evo mag were singing the praises of this car months ago, I think i'd still rather have a Fiesta ST though were I buying a new car in this sector.

Having driven both, the Fiesta ST isn't remotely near to the Corsa VXR.

The Corsa VXR is a very good, very credible car with a touch of chav to back it up. The Fiesta ST is underpowered, poorly setup and loses all sense of stableness under heavy braking.

would love to try out a corsa vxr, outside of my price bracket but I keep hearing great things about them mostly from the guys who went on VXR track days, malt vinegar said it was the best car he has ever driven from a fun point of view, so would like to see what it is that has made him say this.

still ugly imo, with no character.

If it's simply a car you think is unattractive then where does the Corsa reference come in? If you don't like it then that's fair enough, but trying to link it to previous models is futile as it's a Corsa in name only and shares none of the components (and therefore none of the flaws) of previous models.
You previously said that image means nothing to you, so i'm at a loss why you made the "it's a Corsa" statement when that counters the previous one?

You'd have made more sense just saying you didn't like it.

And performance wise a Corsa VXR should be a lifetime away from a Transit diesel.

I may be wrong here, but the gap between a CSL and a Corsa VXR, is smaller than the gap between the VXR and the Transit right?
And we all know how quick the CSL is do we not?

Yeah people just hate it because its a Vauxhall, they cant see past the badge even though i cant see a bad review for it anywhere, only praises, even from people driving pure drivers cars aka VX220/Elises.

Personally i Loathe Corsas, but this one seems to be a step above most other things in its class this time around. People slating it are ones who have probably never seen one in the flesh and most certainly havent driven one, yet people who have experiance in them (VXR track day people) havent said a bad thing about it.

Yup, same time as an EP3 Type-R

Think a Cooper S-Works did it in 8:55 & a mk5 Golf GTi in around 8:52 (for comparison)

You guys may take the mick out of corsas but I rated my 1.8sri corsa just below my 172.

The VXR is cracking.

And I ""lol"" at the badge snobs who then seem to love ford and renault which have equally dire vehicles in the range and always have.

The old 1.6 GSI corsa ##cough Nova in disguise wern't bad either when you consider what else was available at the time .

I personally quite like the new corsa VXR however having sat in one my god the windscreen feels like its on the other side of the county its that far away.

The seats were also horrendously uncomfy for my back. (I havn't driven one because of this as my back is in bad enough shape as it is).

one drove past me a few days ago and I thought it looked great.

Yes ok its still a Corsa but its got the looks and power to match, great little car :)
