The 172/182 when they work are the most fun this side of something stupidly quick.

Went into my local renault showroom few days ago and they had a Clio 197 up for £21,000 OTR with ID paint and what ever fancy version it was. I mean £21k for a clio (bar the v6 version) is stupid.

Build quality on the corsa is way better than the clio, new and old. VFM is better. The new corsa > clio > fiesta

Infact appart from the clio 172/182, the last corsa was a better car than the clio in terms of space, ride comfort and performance.

Face it the corsa VXR is a great car and deserves its praise. Now if only I didn't do 30k miles per year I could see me owning one.

However the new mazda 2 (fiesta size) from what I understand is shaping up to be an awesome car and is getting the MPS treatment with a turbo version. Could be interesting.

I've just handed back a Mazda 2 after having one for 2 weeks and the thing is hideous...
 
If more people stopped taking magazines like Evo as gospel and actually drove some of the cars themselves and made up their own minds about cars, I am sure the Corsa VXR would be very highly regarded. Compared to certain French cars the VXR is well made, looks better, goes like stink , handles very well and is a shed load cheaper than some of it`s "rivals"!

If this thing had a (insert german manufacturers name here) badge on it god knows how many they would shift over here.
