Hi,im wanting to flash my bios via the "Asus EZ Flash 2 utility",i have downloaded the latest bios from the asus site but when i extract it from the compressed file its just over 2mb in size. Now this isn't going to fit on a 1.44mb floppy so will i have to buy a usb memory stick?

Thanks.

Can't understand why they mention flashing via floppy disc if you can't fit the bios file on one.I'll borrow a usb memory stick from work tomorrow.

Thanks.

Its up to you, I've lot count of the reports of bad flashes from Asus update. As a general principle flashing from Windows is the most risky method possible. With soldered in bios chips, its RMA time. Used to be able to hot swap the bios chip.

Is it possible to flash via cd?

Not sure but with my old Asus A8N32 board i used to burn the bios rom to a cdr & when booting hit alt + F2 & it would search for a floppy disc & then find the cdr and load the new bios off the cdr.

My Blitz Formula died as a result of a failed Windows BIOS flash......don't do it ! USB or CD is the way forward :)

flashed mine using an usb hard drive - cd is also possible. It didnt like the memorystick I had (cleverstuff stick - tries to load an emulated cd rom)

I flashed via USB mem stick, couldnt be easier.

Just download bios in windows, stick it on mem stick. Reboot, mem stick in, bios sees it as C: drive. Jobs a good 'un.

5 quid for a mem stick is cheaper than RMA postage anyway! :D

Couldn't agree more, most simple bios flash i have ever done:)
