I don't think it's worth swapping any currently owned SSDs for unless it doesn't have TRIM support. I think this particular SSD just happen to come along at a time when nothing much else has hit this price point for the capacity, whilst providing TRIM support and vibrant firmware support along with good speeds out of the box.

My Crucial CT64M225 M225 64GB Solid State Disk SSD 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive has trim and has faster write speeds at 150 MB/S

Mine has 5 year warranty too

Not worth swapping out?

Yeh me too I have the m225 128gb in main PC ad thinking of putting this in my laptop and then the c300 64gb in my main pc. I don't need fast writes speeds as I put all my data on my 2TB hard drive. So only looking for great read speeds.

Your M225 will have much, much slower 4KB read/write performance though, if you can tell the difference outside of benchmarks though I'm not really sure.

Don't know much about SSD's but i'm thinking of getting one of these.
I would however like to avoid a full re-install of Win 7.
Any way to clone my existing setup over to the SSD (using Acronis or similar) ?

OK just got my C300 64bit this morning from Crucial. Ran Crystal disk mark 2.2 and getting the following connected to my Sata 2 on my motherboard in AHCI mode, I have orders the asus sata card but hasn't arrived yet.

SEQ---274.1---75.82
512k--259.0---75.96
4k-----24.69---15.70
4k
QD32-184.2----38.62

My old Crucial M225 120Gb drive was getting the following:

SEQ---231.4---161.3
512k--163.2---121.5
4k-----27.98---11.98
4k
QD32-184.2----38.62

Atto on the C300 64bg gives:
Max read 286.178MB/s
Max write 79.891MB/s

So the read is better then my m225, but the write is much slower. Once I get my Sata 3 asus card I will check out the max read speed which should be about 355Mb/s.

As I only use about 46GB of my C drive I will be Changing the M225 128GB for the 64GB C300. As I do not write much on my C drive and all my data in on my 2TB HDD.

Received my OCZ Vertex 2E SSD today and it took me just over an hour to backup my OS win7 (on HDD), install the SSD and restore the OS onto the SSD using Acronis.
I reckon it would've taken me at least 4 hours if I was doing a clean install.

Everything looks ok (i think):

What you need to do when restoring your OS image onto your SSD is make sure the alignment is 1024k otherwise your read/write performance may suffer.
Use diskpar (xp) or diskpart (vista/7) to determine if your SSD is aligned correctly.

You will see improved "reads" with SATAIII (6Gb/s)...

Could somebody running @ SATAIII (6Gb/s) speeds please run AS SSD Benchmark
