Just bought one of these!

2007
2.0TDI 140
25,000 miles
One old-timer owner, with full service, garage kept condition. Absolutely spotless.

£5700 :o

An equivalent golf would have been £7500+

They are a great used buy now. Will add pics when ive collected it.

I'm hoping I can pick up a Jetta in a few years time. It's about as big a car as I'd be able to get away with our owning without the wife moaning about it being too big for her to drive.

They are nice cars, and remarkably good value used. They aren't very interesting though, if that's a consideration.

May have found the wifes next car, what's the best combo engine wise

1.6 petrol
1.9 derv
2.0 petrol

The derv looks like the better bet for finding a bargain as there are so many, petrols are few and far between.

Depends on what the car is really. A 1.9 diesel could be anything from an 80bhp normally aspirated pile of **** to a 150bhp thing and a 2.0 petrol could be anything from a 115bhp 8v heap of junk to a 300bhp TFSI!

back in 09 i had one of these for around 2 weeks as a courtesy car and did around 1k miles, it was a 2.0TDi and from what I can remember the brakes were good, power was sufficient enough and it was generally an ok car to drive. Was defo not exciting though, sounds like you got a good deal however, so enjoy!

Hmmm, the old person in me is starting to like these, particularly as a budget version of a newer Golf.

indeed. The old man in me is saying 'You know this car would be much more sensible compared to an Audi TT. You know this is what you Should buy'.

Will I listen? nope :)
